John 19:11-16
11Jesus answered, “1You would have no authority 2over Me, unless it had been given you from above; for this reason 3he who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.” 12As a result of this Pilate 4made efforts to release Him, but the Jews cried out saying, “5If you release this Man, you are no friend of Caesar; everyone who makes himself out to be a king 6opposes Caesar.”
13Therefore when Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out, and 7sat down on the judgment seat at a place called 8The Pavement, but 9in 10Hebrew, Gabbatha. 14Now it was 11the day of preparation for the Passover; it was about the 1213sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, “Behold, 14your King!” 15So they cried out, “15Away with Him, away with Him, crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.” 16So he then 16handed Him over to them to be crucified.
