John 12:37-43
37But though He had performed so many 1signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him. 38This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke: “2Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” 39For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, 40“3He has blinded their eyes and He 4hardened their heart, so that they would not see with their eyes and perceive with their heart, and 5be converted and I heal them.” 41These things Isaiah said because 6he saw His glory, and 7he spoke of Him. 42Nevertheless 8many even of 9the rulers believed in Him, but 10because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear that they would be 1112put out of the synagogue; 4313for they loved the 14approval of men rather than the 15approval of God.
