John 12:36-50
36While you have the Light, 1believe in the Light, so that you may become 2sons of Light.”
These things Jesus spoke, and He went away and 34hid Himself from them. 37But though He had performed so many 5signs before them, yet they were not believing in Him. 38This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet which he spoke: “6Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” 39For this reason they could not believe, for Isaiah said again, 40“7He has blinded their eyes and He 8hardened their heart, so that they would not see with their eyes and perceive with their heart, and 9be converted and I heal them.” 41These things Isaiah said because 10he saw His glory, and 11he spoke of Him. 42Nevertheless 12many even of 13the rulers believed in Him, but 14because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear that they would be 1516put out of the synagogue; 4317for they loved the 18approval of men rather than the 19approval of God.
44And Jesus cried out and said, “20He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me. 4521He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. 4622I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. 47If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for 23I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. 4824He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; 25the word I spoke is what will judge him at 26the last day. 4927For I did not speak 28on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me 29has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. 50I know that 30His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak 31just as the Father has told Me.”
