James 2:4-9

4have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges 1with evil 2motives? 5Listen, 3my beloved brethren: did not 4God choose the poor 5of this world to be 6rich in faith and 7heirs of the kingdom which He 8promised to those who love Him? 6But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you and 9personally 10drag you into 11court? 712Do they not blaspheme the fair name 13by which you have been called?

8If, however, you 14are fulfilling the 15royal law according to the Scripture, “16You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. 9But if you 17show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the 18law as transgressors.
