James 1:19-25
191This 2you know, 3my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, 4slow to speak and 5slow to anger; 20for 6the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. 21Therefore, 7putting aside all filthiness and all 8that remains of wickedness, in 9humility receive 10the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. 2211But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. 23For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his 12natural face 13in a mirror; 24for once he has looked at himself and gone away, 14he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. 25But one who looks intently at the perfect law, 15the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but 16an effectual doer, this man will be 17blessed in 18what he does.
