Galatians 5
Walk by the Spirit
112It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore 3keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a 4yoke of slavery.
2Behold I, 5Paul, say to you that if you receive 6circumcision, Christ will be of no benefit to you. 3And I 7testify again to every man who receives 8circumcision, that he is under obligation to 9keep the whole Law. 4You have been severed from Christ, you who 10are seeking to be justified by law; you have 11fallen from grace. 5For we 12through the Spirit, 13by faith, are 14waiting for the hope of righteousness. 6For in 15Christ Jesus 16neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but 17faith working through love.
7You were 18running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth? 8This persuasion did not come from 19Him who calls you. 920A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough. 1021I have confidence 22in you in the Lord that you 23will adopt no other view; but the one who is 24disturbing you will bear his judgment, whoever he is. 11But I, brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still 25persecuted? Then 26the stumbling block of the cross has been abolished. 12I wish that 27those who are troubling you would even 2829mutilate themselves.
13For you were called to 30freedom, brethren; 31only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love 32serve one another. 14For 33the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “34You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15But if you 35bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.
16But I say, 36walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out 37the desire of the flesh. 17For 38the flesh 39sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, 40so that you may not do the things that you 41please. 18But if you are 42led by the Spirit, 43you are not under the Law. 19Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: 4445immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20idolatry, 46sorcery, enmities, 47strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, 48disputes, dissensions, 4950factions, 21envying, 51drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not 52inherit the kingdom of God. 22But 53the fruit of the Spirit is 54love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, 55self-control; against such things 56there is no law. 24Now those who 57belong to 58Christ Jesus have 59crucified the flesh with its passions and 60desires.
25If we live by the Spirit, let us also 61walk 62by the Spirit. 26Let us not become 63boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.
