Amos 1:5-8
5I will also 1break the gate bar of Damascus, And cut off the inhabitant from the 2valley of Aven, And him who holds the scepter, from Beth-eden; So the people of Aram will go exiled to 3Kir,” Says the Lord.
6Thus says the Lord, “For three transgressions of 4Gaza and for four I will not revoke its punishment, Because they deported an entire population To 5deliver it up to Edom.7So I will send fire upon the wall of Gaza And it will consume her citadels.8I will also cut off the inhabitant from 6Ashdod, And him who holds the scepter, from 7Ashkelon; I will even 8unleash My 9power upon Ekron, And the remnant of the 10Philistines will perish,” Says the Lord 11God.
