Acts 1:21-26

21Therefore it is necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that 1the Lord Jesus went in and out 2among us--

223beginning 4with the baptism of John until the day that He 5was taken up from us--one of these must become a 6witness with us of His resurrection.”

23So they put forward two men, Joseph called Barsabbas (who was also called Justus), and 7Matthias.

24And they 8prayed and said, “You, Lord, 9who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two You have chosen

25to 10occupy 11this ministry and 12apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.”

26And they 1314drew lots for them, and the lot fell 15to 16Matthias; and he was 17added to 18the eleven apostles.
