New American Standard Bible 1995
1 Thessalonians 2:7-9
7But we 1proved to be 23gentle 4among you, 5as a nursing mother 6tenderly cares for her own children. 8Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to 7impart to you not only the 8gospel of God but also our own 9lives, because you had become 10very dear to us.
9For you recall, brethren, our 11labor and hardship, how 12working night and day so as not to be a 13burden to any of you, we proclaimed to you the 14gospel of God.
