1 Thessalonians 2:7-12

7But we 1proved to be 2 3gentle 4among you, 5as a nursing mother 6tenderly cares for her own children. 8Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to 7impart to you not only the 8gospel of God but also our own 9lives, because you had become 10very dear to us.

9For you recall, brethren, our 11labor and hardship, how 12working night and day so as not to be a 13burden to any of you, we proclaimed to you the 14gospel of God. 10You are witnesses, and so is 15God, 16how devoutly and uprightly and blamelessly we 17behaved toward you 18believers; 11just as you know how we were 19exhorting and encouraging and 20 21imploring each one of you as 22a father would his own children, 12so that you would 23walk in a manner worthy of the God who 24calls you into His own kingdom and 25glory.
