1 John 3:13-18
13Do not be surprised, brethren, if 1the world hates you.
14We know that we have 2passed out of death into life, 3because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.
15Everyone who 4hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that 5no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
16We know love by this, that 6He laid down His life for us; and 7we ought to lay down our lives for the 8brethren.
17But 9whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and 10closes his 11heart 12against him, 13how does the love of God abide in him?
1814Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and 15truth.
