1 Corinthians 4:9-13

9For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men 1condemned to death; because we 2have become a spectacle to the world, 3both to angels and to men. 10We are 4fools for Christ’s sake, but 5you are prudent in Christ; 6we are weak, but you are strong; you are distinguished, but we are without honor. 11To this present hour we are both 7hungry and thirsty, and are poorly clothed, and are roughly treated, and are homeless; 12and we toil, 8working with our own hands; when we are 9reviled, we bless; when we are 10persecuted, we endure; 13when we are slandered, we try to 11conciliate; we have 12become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now.
