1Now it came to pass afterאַֽחֲרֵי֙'a.cha.ReiH310the deathמ֣וֹתMotH4194of Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586,when Davidוְדָוִ֣דve.da.VidH1732was returnedשָׁ֔בShavH7725from the slaughterמֵהַכּ֖וֹתme.ha.KotH5221of the Amalekitesהָעֲמָלֵ֑קha.'a.ma.LekH6002,and Davidדָּוִ֛דda.VidH1732had abodeוַיֵּ֧שֶׁבvai.Ye.shevH3427twoשְׁנָֽיִם׃she.Na.yimH8147daysיָמִ֥יםya.MimH3117in Ziklagבְּצִקְלָ֖גbe.tzik.LagH6860;

2It came even to pass on the thirdהַשְּׁלִישִׁ֗יha.she.li.ShiH7992dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117,that, behold, a manאִ֨ישׁ'ishH376cameבָּ֤אba'H935out of the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶה֙ha.ma.cha.NehH4264from Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586with his clothesוּבְגָדָ֣יוu.ve.ga.DavH899rentקְרֻעִ֔יםke.ru.'ImH7167,and earthוַאֲדָמָ֖הva.'a.da.MahH127upon his headרֹאשׁ֑וֹro.ShoH7218: and soit was, when he cameבְּבֹא֣וֹbe.vo.'OH935to Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732,that he fellוַיִּפֹּ֥לvai.yi.PolH5307to the earthאַ֖רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776,and did obeisanceוַיִּשְׁתָּֽחוּ׃vai.yish.Ta.chuH7812.

3And Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, From whence comestתָּב֑וֹאta.Vo'H935thou? And he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Out of the campמִמַּחֲנֵ֥הmi.ma.cha.NehH4264of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478am I escapedנִמְלָֽטְתִּי׃nim.La.te.tiH4422.
