7And Elishaאֱלִישָׁע֙'e.li.Sha'H477cameוַיָּבֹ֤אvai.ya.Vo'H935to Damascusדַּמֶּ֔שֶׂקda.Me.sekH1834;and Ben–hadadH1130the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Syriaאֲרָ֖ם'a.RamH758was sickחֹלֶ֑הcho.LehH2470;and it was toldוַיֻּגַּד־vai.yu.gad-H5046him, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,The manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430is comeבָּ֛אba'H935hitherהֵֽנָּה׃He.nahH2008.

8And the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Hazaelחֲזָהאֵ֗לcha.za.h.'ElH2371,Takeקַ֤חkachH3947a presentמִנְחָ֔הmin.ChahH4503in thine handבְּיָֽדְךָ֙be.ya.de.KhaH3027,and goH3212,meetH7125the manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֑יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,and enquireוְדָרַשְׁתָּ֨ve.da.rash.TaH1875of the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068by him, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Shall I recoverהַאֶחְיֶ֖הha.'ech.YehH2421of this diseaseמֵחֳלִ֥יme.cho.LiH2483?

9So Hazaelחֲזָאֵל֮cha.za.'ElH2371wentH3212to meetH7125him, and tookוַיִּקַּ֨חvai.yi.KachH3947a presentמִנְחָ֤הmin.ChahH4503with himבְיָדוֹ֙ve.ya.DoH3027,even of every good thingט֣וּבtuvH2898of Damascusדַּמֶּ֔שֶׂקda.Me.sekH1834,fortyאַרְבָּעִ֣ים'ar.ba.'ImH705camels’גָּמָ֑לga.MalH1581burdenמַשָּׂ֖אma.Sa'H4853,and cameוַיָּבֹא֙vai.ya.Vo'H935and stoodוַיַּעֲמֹ֣דvai.ya.'a.ModH5975beforeלְפָנָ֔יוle.fa.NavH6440him, and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Thy sonבִּנְךָ֨bin.KhaH1121Ben–hadadH1130kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Syriaאֲרָם֙'a.RamH758hath sentשְׁלָחַ֤נִיshe.la.Cha.niH7971me to thee, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Shall I recoverהַאֶחְיֶ֖הha.'ech.YehH2421of this diseaseמֵחֳלִ֥יme.cho.LiH2483?

10And Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֔ע'e.li.Sha'H477saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, GoH3212,sayאֱמָר־'e.mor-H559unto him, Thou mayest certainlyחָיֹ֣הcha.YohH2421recoverתִחְיֶ֑הtich.YehH2421:howbeit the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068hath shewedוְהִרְאַ֥נִיve.hir.'A.niH7200me that he shall surelyמ֥וֹתMotH4191dieיָמֽוּת׃ya.MutH4191.

11And he settledוַיַּעֲמֵ֥דvai.ya.'a.MedH5975his countenanceפָּנָ֖יוpa.NavH6440stedfastlyוַיָּ֣שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760,until he was ashamedבֹּ֑שׁBoshH954:and the manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ha.'E.lo.HimH430weptוַיֵּ֖בְךְּvai.Ye.vekH1058.

12And Hazaelחֲזָאֵ֔לcha.za.'ElH2371saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Why weepethבֹכֶ֑הvo.KhehH1058my lordאֲדֹנִ֣י'a.do.NiH113?And he answeredוַיֹּ֡אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Because I knowיָדַ֡עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045the evilרָעָ֗הra.'AhH7451that thou wilt doתַּעֲשֶׂה֩ta.'a.SehH6213unto the childrenלִבְנֵ֨יliv.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֜לYis.ra.'ElH3478:their strong holdsמִבְצְרֵיהֶ֞םmiv.tze.rei.HemH4013wilt thou setתְּשַׁלַּ֤חte.sha.LachH7971on fireבָּאֵשׁ֙ba.'EshH784,and their young menוּבַחֻֽרֵיהֶם֙u.va.chu.rei.HemH970wilt thou slayתַּהֲרֹ֔גta.ha.RogH2026with the swordבַּחֶ֣רֶבba.Che.revH2719,and wilt dashתְּרַטֵּ֔שׁte.ra.TeshH7376their childrenוְעֹלְלֵיהֶ֣םve.'o.le.lei.HemH5768,and rip upתְּבַקֵּֽעַ׃te.va.Ke.a'H1234their women with childוְהָרֹתֵיהֶ֖םve.ha.ro.tei.HemH2030.

13And Hazaelחֲזָהאֵ֔לcha.za.h.'ElH2371saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, But what, isthy servantעַבְדְּךָ֙'av.de.KhaH5650a dogהַכֶּ֔לֶבha.Ke.levH3611,that he should doיַעֲשֶׂ֔הya.'a.SehH6213this greatהַגָּד֖וֹלha.ga.DolH1419thingהַדָּבָ֥רha.da.VarH1697?And Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֔ע'e.li.Sha'H477answeredוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,The Lordיְהוָ֛הYah.wehH3068hath shewedהִרְאַ֧נִיhir.'A.niH7200me that thou shalt bekingמֶ֥לֶךְMe.lekhH4428over Syriaאֲרָֽם׃'a.RamH758.

14So he departedH3212from Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֗ע'e.li.Sha'H477,and cameוַיָּבֹא֙vai.ya.Vo'H935to his masterאֲדֹנָ֔יו'a.do.NavH113;who saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, What saidאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֑ע'e.li.Sha'H477to thee? And he answeredוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,He toldאָ֥מַר'A.marH559me thatthou shouldest surelyחָיֹ֥הcha.YohH2421recoverתִחְיֶֽה׃tich.YehH2421.

15And it came to pass on the morrowמִֽמָּחֳרָ֗תmi.mo.cho.RatH4283,that he tookוַיִּקַּ֤חvai.yi.KachH3947a thick clothהַמַּכְבֵּר֙ha.makh.BerH4346,and dippedוַיִּטְבֹּ֣לvai.yit.BolH2881itin waterבַּמַּ֔יִםba.Ma.yimH4325,and spreadוַיִּפְרֹ֥שׂvai.yif.RosH6566iton his faceפָּנָ֖יוpa.NavH6440,so that he diedוַיָּמֹ֑תvai.ya.MotH4191:and Hazaelחֲזָהאֵ֖לcha.za.h.'ElH2371reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֥ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427in his stead.
