1Now Jehoramוִיהוֹרָ֣םvi.ho.RamH3088the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Ahabאַחְאָ֗ב'ach.'AvH256began to reignמָלַ֤ךְma.LakhH4427over Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478in Samariaבְּשֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹןbe.Sho.me.RonH8111the eighteenthשְׁמֹנֶ֣ה עֶשְׂרֵ֔הshe.mo.Neh 'es.RehH6240 H8083yearבִּשְׁנַת֙bish.NatH8141of Jehoshaphatלִיהוֹשָׁפָ֖טli.ho.sha.FatH3092kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,and reignedוַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְvai.yim.LokhH4427twelveשְׁתֵּים־ עֶשְׂרֵ֥הshe.teim- 'es.RehH6240 H8147yearsשָׁנָֽה׃sha.NahH8141.

2And he wroughtוַיַּעֲשֶׂ֤הvai.ya.'a.SehH6213evilהָרַע֙ha.Ra'H7451in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068;but not like his fatherכְאָבִ֖יוkhe.'a.VivH1,and like his motherוּכְאִמּ֑וֹu.khe.'i.MoH517:for he put awayוַיָּ֙סַר֙vai.Ya.sarH5493the imageמַצְּבַ֣תma.tze.VatH4676of Baalהַבַּ֔עַלha.Ba.'alH1168that his fatherאָבִֽיו׃'a.VivH1had madeעָשָׂ֖ה'a.SahH6213.

3Nevertheless he cleavedדָּבֵ֑קda.VekH1692unto the sinsבְּחַטֹּ֞אותbe.cha.TotH2403of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֧םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379the sonבֶּֽן־ben-H1121of Nebatנְבָ֛טne.VatH5028,which made Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478to sinהֶחֱטִ֥יאhe.che.Ti'H2398;he departedסָ֖רsarH5493not therefrom.

4And Meshaוּמֵישַׁ֥עu.mei.Sha'H4338kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Moabמוֹאָ֖בmo.'AvH4124was a sheepmasterנֹקֵ֑דno.KedH5349,and renderedוְהֵשִׁ֤יבve.he.ShivH7725unto the kingלְמֶֽלֶךְ־le.Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478an hundredמֵאָה־me.'ah-H3967thousandאֶ֣לֶף'E.lefH505lambsכָּרִ֔יםka.RimH3733,and an hundredוּמֵ֥אָהu.Me.'ahH3967thousandאֶ֖לֶף'E.lefH505ramsאֵילִ֥ים'ei.LimH352,with the woolצָֽמֶר׃Tza.merH6785.

5But it came to pass, when Ahabאַחְאָ֑ב'ach.'AvH256was deadכְּמ֣וֹתke.MotH4194,that the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Moabמוֹאָ֖בmo.'AvH4124rebelledוַיִּפְשַׁ֥עvai.yif.Sha'H6586against the kingבְּמֶ֥לֶךְbe.Me.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

6And kingהַמֶּ֧לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Jehoramיְהוֹרָ֛םye.ho.RamH3088went outוַיֵּצֵ֞אvai.ye.Tze'H3318of Samariaמִשֹּׁמְר֑וֹןmi.sho.me.RonH8111the same timeבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117,and numberedוַיִּפְקֹ֖דvai.yif.KodH6485all Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

7And he wentH3212and sentוַיִּשְׁלַח֩vai.yish.LachH7971to Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָ֨טye.ho.sha.FatH3092the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֜הye.hu.DahH3063,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559,The kingמֶ֤לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Moabמוֹאָב֙mo.'AvH4124hath rebelledפָּשַׁ֣עpa.Sha'H6586against me: wilt thou goH3212with me against Moabמוֹאָ֖בmo.'AvH4124to battleלַמִּלְחָמָ֑הla.mil.cha.MahH4421?And he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,I will go upאֶעֱלֶ֔ה'e.'e.LehH5927: I am as thou art,my peopleכְּעַמִּ֥יke.'a.MiH5971as thy peopleכְעַמֶּ֖ךָkhe.'a.Me.khaH5971, andmy horsesכְּסוּסַ֥יke.su.SaiH5483as thy horsesכְּסוּסֶֽיךָ׃ke.su.Sei.khaH5483.

8And he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Which wayהַדֶּ֖רֶךְha.De.rekhH1870shall we go upנַעֲלֶ֑הna.'a.LehH5927?And he answeredוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,The wayדֶּ֖רֶךְDe.rekhH1870through the wildernessמִדְבַּ֥רmid.BarH4057of Edomאֱדֽוֹם׃'e.DomH123.

9So the kingמֶ֨לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֤לYis.ra.'ElH3478wentH3212,and the kingוּמֶֽלֶך־u.Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063,and the kingוּמֶ֣לֶךְu.Me.lekhH4428of Edomאֱד֔וֹם'e.DomH123:and they fetched a compassוַיָּסֹ֕בּוּvai.ya.So.buH5437of sevenשִׁבְעַ֣תshiv.'AtH7651days’יָמִ֑יםya.MimH3117journeyדֶּ֖רֶךְDe.rekhH1870:and there was no waterמַ֧יִםMa.yimH4325for the hostלַֽמַּחֲנֶ֛הla.ma.cha.NehH4264,and for the cattleוְלַבְּהֵמָ֖הve.la.be.he.MahH929that followedבְּרַגְלֵיהֶֽם׃be.rag.lei.HemH7272them.

10And the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Alasאֲהָ֕הּ'a.HahH162!that the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068hath calledH7121these threeלִשְׁלֹ֙שֶׁת֙lish.Lo.shetH7969kingsהַמְּלָכִ֣יםha.me.la.KhimH4428togetherH7121,to deliverלָתֵ֥תla.TetH5414them into the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of Moabמוֹאָֽב׃mo.'AvH4124!

11But Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָ֗טye.ho.sha.FatH3092saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, Is therenot here a prophetנָבִיא֙na.Vi'H5030of the Lordלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068,that we may enquireוְנִדְרְשָׁ֥הve.nid.re.ShahH1875of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068by him? And oneאֶחָ֞ד'e.ChadH259of the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israel’sיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478servantsמֵעַבְדֵ֤יme.'av.DeiH5650answeredוַ֠יַּעַןVai.ya.'anH6030and saidוַיֹּ֔אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, Here isElishaאֱלִישָׁ֣ע'e.li.Sha'H477the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Shaphatשָׁפָ֔טsha.FatH8202,which pouredיָ֥צַקYa.tzakH3332waterמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325on the handsיְדֵ֥יye.DeiH3027of Elijahאֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃'e.li.Ya.huH452.

12And Jehoshaphatיְה֣וֹשָׁפָ֔טye.Ho.o.sha.FatH3092saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559,The wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068isיֵ֥שׁyeshH3426with him. So the kingמֶ֧לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֛לYis.ra.'ElH3478and Jehoshaphatוִיהוֹשָׁפָ֖טvi.ho.sha.FatH3092and the kingוּמֶ֥לֶךְu.Me.lekhH4428of Edomאֱדֽוֹם׃'e.DomH123went downוַיֵּרְד֣וּvai.ye.re.DuH3381to him.

13And Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֜ע'e.li.Sha'H477saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto the kingמֶ֤לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,What have I to do with thee? getH3212thee to the prophetsנְבִיאֵ֣יne.vi.'EiH5030of thy fatherאָבִ֔יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1,and to the prophetsנְבִיאֵ֖יne.vi.'EiH5030of thy motherאִמֶּ֑ךָ'i.Me.khaH517.And the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Nay: for the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068hath calledH7121these threeלִשְׁלֹ֙שֶׁת֙lish.Lo.shetH7969kingsהַמְּלָכִ֣יםha.me.la.KhimH4428togetherH7121,to deliverלָתֵ֥תla.TetH5414them into the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of Moabמוֹאָֽב׃mo.'AvH4124.

14And Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֗ע'e.li.Sha'H477saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, Asthe Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635livethחַי־chai-H2416,beforeלְפָנָ֔יוle.fa.NavH6440whom I standעָמַ֣דְתִּי'a.Mad.tiH5975,surely, were it not thatלוּלֵ֛יlu.LeiH3884I regardנֹשֵׂ֑אno.Se'H5375the presenceפְּנֵ֛יpe.NeiH6440of Jehoshaphatיְהוֹשָׁפָ֥טye.ho.sha.FatH3092the kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063,I would not lookאַבִּ֥יט'a.BitH5027toward thee, nor seeאֶרְאֶֽךָּ׃'er.'E.kaH7200thee.

15But now bringקְחוּ־ke.chu-H3947me a minstrelמְנַגֵּ֑ןme.na.GenH5059.And it came to pass, when the minstrelכְּנַגֵּ֣ןke.na.GenH5059playedהַֽמְנַגֵּ֔ןham.na.GenH5059,that the handיַד־yad-H3027of the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068came upon him.

16And he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,Makeעָשֹׂ֛ה'a.SohH6213this valleyהַנַּ֥חַלha.Na.chalH5158full of ditchesH1356.

17For thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,Ye shall not seeתִרְא֥וּtir.'UH7200windר֙וּחַ֙Ru.achH7307,neither shall ye seeתִרְא֣וּtir.'UH7200rainגֶ֔שֶׁםGe.shemH1653;yet that valleyוְהַנַּ֥חַלve.ha.Na.chalH5158shall be filledיִמָּ֣לֵאyi.Ma.le'H4390with waterמָ֑יִםMa.yimH4325,that ye may drinkוּשְׁתִיתֶ֛םu.she.ti.TemH8354,both ye, and your cattleוּמִקְנֵיכֶ֖םu.mik.nei.KhemH4735,and your beastsוּֽבְהֶמְתְּכֶֽם׃U.ve.hem.te.KhemH929.

18And this is buta light thingוְנָקַ֥לve.na.KalH7043in the sightבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068:he will deliverוְנָתַ֥ןve.na.TanH5414the Moabitesמוֹאָ֖בmo.'AvH4124also into your handבְּיֶדְכֶֽם׃be.yed.KhemH3027.

19And ye shall smiteוְהִכִּיתֶ֞םve.hi.ki.TemH5221every fencedמִבְצָר֙miv.TzarH4013cityעִ֤יר'irH5892,and every choiceמִבְח֔וֹרmiv.ChorH4004cityעִ֣יר'irH5892,and shall fellתַּפִּ֔ילוּta.Pi.luH5307every goodטוֹב֙tOvH2896treeעֵ֥ץ'etzH6086,and stopתִּסְתֹּ֑מוּtis.To.muH5640all wellsמַעְיְנֵי־ma'.ye.nei-H4599of waterמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325,and marתַּכְאִ֖בוּtakh.'I.vuH3510every goodהַטּוֹבָ֔הha.to.VahH2896pieceהַחֶלְקָ֣הha.chel.KahH2513of land with stonesבָּאֲבָנִֽים׃ba.'a.va.NimH68.
