6And Elijahאֵלִיָּ֜הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452saidוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559unto him, Tarryשֵֽׁב־shev-H3427,I pray thee, here; for the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068hath sentשְׁלָחַ֣נִיshe.la.Cha.niH7971me to Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֔נָהhai.yar.De.nahH3383.And he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, Asthe Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068livethחַי־chai-H2416, and asthy soulנַפְשְׁךָ֖naf.she.KhaH5315livethוְחֵֽי־ve.chei-H2416,I will not leaveאֶעֶזְבֶ֑ךָּ'e.'ez.Ve.kaH5800thee. And they twoשְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃she.nei.HemH8147went onH3212.

7And fiftyוַחֲמִשִּׁ֨יםva.cha.mi.ShimH2572menאִ֜ישׁ'ishH376of the sonsמִבְּנֵ֤יmi.be.NeiH1121of the prophetsהַנְּבִיאִים֙ha.ne.vi.'ImH5030wentהָֽלְכ֔וּha.le.KhuH1980,and stoodוַיַּעַמְד֥וּvai.ya.'am.DuH5975to viewמִנֶּ֖גֶדmi.Ne.gedH5048afar offמֵרָח֑וֹקme.ra.ChokH7350:and they twoוּשְׁנֵיהֶ֖םu.she.nei.HemH8147stoodעָמְד֥וּ'a.me.DuH5975by Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃hai.yar.DenH3383.

8And Elijahאֵלִיָּ֨הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452tookוַיִּקַּח֩vai.yi.KachH3947his mantleאַדַּרְתּ֤וֹ'a.dar.ToH155, and wrapped ittogetherוַיִּגְלֹם֙vai.yig.LomH1563,and smoteוַיַּכֶּ֣הvai.ya.KehH5221the watersהַמַּ֔יִםha.Ma.yimH4325,and they were dividedוַיֵּחָצ֖וּvai.ye.cha.TzuH2673hither and thither, so that they twoשְׁנֵיהֶ֖םshe.nei.HemH8147went overוַיַּעַבְר֥וּvai.ya.'av.RuH5674on dryבֶּחָרָבָֽה׃be.cha.ra.VahH2724ground.

9And it came to pass, when they were gone overכְעָבְרָ֗םkhe.'a.ve.RamH5674,that Elijahוְאֵ֨לִיָּ֜הוּve.'E.li.Ya.huH452saidאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559unto Elishaאֱלִישָׁע֙'e.li.Sha'H477,Askשְׁאַל֙she.'AlH7592what I shall doאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־'e.'e.seh-H6213for thee, before I be taken awayאֶלָּקַ֣ח'e.la.KachH3947from thee. And Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֔ע'e.li.Sha'H477saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,I pray thee, let a doubleשְׁנַ֥יִםshe.Na.yimH8147portionפִּֽי־pi-H6310of thy spiritבְּרוּחֲךָ֖be.ru.cha.KhaH7307be upon me.

10And he saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Thou hast askedלִשְׁא֑וֹלlish.'olH7592a hard thingהִקְשִׁ֣יתָhik.Shi.taH7185: nevertheless,if thou seeתִּרְאֶ֨הtir.'EhH7200me when I amtakenלֻקָּ֤חlu.KachH3947from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.

11And it came to pass, as they stillהֹלְכִ֤יםho.le.KhimH1980went onהָלוֹךְ֙ha.loKhH1980,and talkedוְדַבֵּ֔רve.da.BerH1696, that, behold, there appeareda chariotרֶֽכֶב־re.khev-H7393of fireאֵשׁ֙'eshH784,and horsesוְס֣וּסֵיve.Su.seiH5483of fireאֵ֔שׁ'EshH784,and partedוַיַּפְרִ֖דוּvai.yaf.Ri.duH6504them bothשְׁנֵיהֶ֑םshe.nei.HemH8147asunderבֵּ֣יןbeinH996;and Elijahאֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452went upוַיַּ֙עַל֙vai.Ya.'alH5927by a whirlwindבַּֽסְעָרָ֖הba.se.'a.RahH5591into heavenהַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ha.sha.Ma.yimH8064.

12And Elishaוֶאֱלִישָׁ֣עve.'e.li.Sha'H477sawרֹאֶ֗הro.'EhH7200it,and he criedמְצַעֵק֙me.tza.'EkH6817,My fatherאָבִ֣י׀'a.ViH1,my fatherאָבִ֗י'a.ViH1,the chariotרֶ֤כֶבRe.khevH7393of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478,and the horsemenוּפָ֣רָשָׁ֔יוu.Fa.ra.ShavH6571thereof. And he sawרָאָ֖הוּra.'A.huH7200him no more: and he took holdוַֽיַּחֲזֵק֙vai.ya.cha.ZekH2388of his own clothesבִּבְגָדָ֔יוbiv.ga.DavH899,and rentוַיִּקְרָעֵ֖םvai.yik.ra.'EmH7167them in twoלִשְׁנַ֥יִםlish.Na.yimH8147piecesקְרָעִֽים׃ke.ra.'ImH7168.

13He took upוַיָּ֙רֶם֙vai.Ya.remH7311also the mantleאַדֶּ֣רֶת'a.De.retH155of Elijahאֵלִיָּ֔הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452that fellנָפְלָ֖הna.fe.LahH5307from him, and went backוַיָּ֥שָׁבvai.Ya.shovH7725,and stoodוַֽיַּעֲמֹ֖דvai.ya.'a.ModH5975by the bankשְׂפַ֥תse.FatH8193of Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃hai.yar.DenH3383;

14And he tookוַיִּקַּח֩vai.yi.KachH3947the mantleאַדֶּ֨רֶת'a.De.retH155of Elijahאֵלִיָּ֜הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452that fellנָפְלָ֤הna.fe.LahH5307from him, and smoteוַיַּכֶּ֣הvai.ya.KehH5221the watersהַמַּ֔יִםha.Ma.yimH4325,and saidוַיֹּאמַ֕רvai.yo.MarH559, Where isthe Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Elijahאֵלִיָּ֑הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452?and when he also had smittenוַיַּכֶּ֣הvai.ya.KehH5221the watersהַמַּ֗יִםha.Ma.yimH4325,they partedוַיֵּֽחָצוּ֙vai.ye.cha.TzuH2673hither and thither: and Elishaאֱלִישָֽׁע׃'e.li.Sha'H477went overוַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖רvai.ya.'a.VorH5674.

15And when the sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121of the prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֤יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030which wereto view at Jerichoבִּֽירִיחוֹ֙bi.ri.ChoH3405sawוַיִּרְאֻ֨הוּvai.yir.'U.huH7200him, they saidוַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּvai.Yo.me.RuH559,The spiritר֥וּחַRu.achH7307of Elijahאֵלִיָּ֖הוּ'e.li.Ya.huH452doth restנָ֛חָהNa.chahH5117on Elishaאֱלִישָׁ֑ע'e.li.Sha'H477.And they cameוַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙vai.ya.Vo.'uH935to meetH7125him, and bowedוַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ־vai.yish.ta.cha.vu-H7812themselves to the groundאָֽרְצָה׃'A.re.tzahH776before him.
