Numbers 22:22-33
And God’sH430 angerH639 was kindledH2734 becauseH3588 he wentH1980: and the angelH4397 of the LORDH3068 placedH7392 himselfH1931 in the wayH1870 for an adversaryH7854 againstH5921 him. NowH3588 he was ridingH7392 uponH5921 his ass, and his twoH8147 servantsH5288 were with him.
And the ass sawH7200 the angelH4397 of the LORDH3068 standingH5324 in the wayH1870, with his swordH2719 drawnH8025 in his handH3027: and the ass turnedH5186 asideH5186 outH4480 of the wayH1870, and went intoH3027 the fieldH7704: and BalaamH1109 smoteH5221 the ass, to turnH5186 herH7200 intoH3027 the wayH1870.
Then the angelH4397 of the LORDH3068 stoodH5975 in a hollow wayH2088 between the vineyardsH3754, a fenceH1447 being on this sideH2088, and a fenceH1447 on that sideH2088.
And the ass sawH7200 the angelH4397 of the LORDH3068, and she thrustH5221 herself unto the wallH7023, and crushed Balaam’sH1109 footH7272 againstH413 the wallH7023: and he smoteH5221 herH413 againH3254.
And the angelH4397 of the LORDH3068 wentH3254 furtherH3254, and stoodH5975 in a narrow placeH4725, whereH834 was noH369 wayH1870 to turnH5186 either to the rightH3225 handH3225 or to the leftH8040.
And the ass sawH7200 the angelH4397 of the LORDH3068, and she layH7257 downH5221 underH8478 BalaamH1109: and Balaam’sH1109 angerH639 was kindledH2734, and he smoteH5221 the ass with his staffH4731.
And the LORDH3068 openedH6605 the mouthH6310 of the ass, and sheH3588 saidH559 unto BalaamH1109, WhatH4100 have I doneH6213 unto thee, that thou hast smittenH5221 meH5221 theseH2088 threeH7969 timesH7272?
And BalaamH1109 saidH559 unto the ass, BecauseH3588 thou hast mocked meH2026: I would there were a swordH2719 in mine handH3027, for nowH6258 I had killedH2026 thee.
And the ass saidH559 unto BalaamH1109, Am notH3808 I thine ass, uponH5921 whichH834 thou hast riddenH7392 allH5704 thy lifeH3117 longH5704 unto this dayH3117? was I everH2088 wont to doH6213 soH6213 unto thee? And he saidH559, Nay.
Then the LORDH3068 openedH1540 the eyesH5869 of BalaamH1109, and he sawH7200 the angelH4397 of the LORDH3068 standingH5324 in the wayH1870, with his swordH2719 drawnH8025 in his handH3027: and he bowedH7812 his head, and fell on his faceH639.
And the angelH4397 of the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto him, Wherefore hast thou smittenH5221 thine ass theseH2088 threeH7969 timesH7272? beholdH2009, I am comeH3318 forthH3318 for an adversaryH7854, becauseH3588 thy wayH1870 is perverse beforeH5048 meH413:
and the ass sawH7200 meH6440, and turnedH5186 asideH5186 beforeH6440 meH6440 theseH2088 threeH7969 timesH7272: unlessH3588 sheH3588 had turnedH5186 asideH5186 from meH6440, surelyH3588 nowH6258 I had evenH1571 slainH2026 thee, and saved herH7200 aliveH2421.
