Revised Version 1895
Numbers 21:4-9
4And they journeyedH5265 from mountH2022 HorH2023 by the wayH1870 to the Red SeaH3220, to compass the landH776 of EdomH123: and the soulH5315 of the peopleH5971 was much discouraged because of the wayH1870.
5And the peopleH5971 spake againstH1696 GodH430, and againstH1696 MosesH4872, Wherefore have ye broughtH5927 usH3588 upH5927 outH4100 of EgyptH4714 to dieH4191 in the wildernessH4057? for there is noH369 breadH3899, and there is noH369 waterH4325; and our soulH5315 loatheth this light breadH3899.
6And the LORDH3068 sentH7971 fiery serpentsH5175 among the peopleH5971, and they bit the peopleH5971; and muchH7227 peopleH5971 of IsraelH3478 diedH4191.
7And the peopleH5971 cameH935 to MosesH4872, and saidH559, WeH3588 have sinnedH2398, becauseH3588 weH3588 have spokenH1696 againstH5921 the LORDH3068, and againstH5921 thee; prayH6419 unto the LORDH3068, that he takeH5493 awayH5493 the serpentsH5175 from usH413. And MosesH4872 prayedH6419 for the peopleH5971.
8And the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto MosesH4872, MakeH7760 thee a fiery serpent, and setH7760 it uponH5921 a standardH5251: and it shall comeH1961 to passH1961, that everyH3605 one that is bitten, when he seeth it, shall live.
9And MosesH4872 madeH6213 a serpentH5175 of brassH5178, and setH7760 it uponH5921 the standardH5251: and it cameH1961 to passH1961, that ifH518 a serpentH5175 had bitten anyH376 manH376, when he lookedH5027 unto the serpentH5175 of brassH5178, he livedH1961.
