Numbers 21:13-26

13From thence they journeyedH5265, and pitchedH2583 on the otherH5676 sideH5676 of ArnonH769, whichH834 is in the wildernessH4057, that cometh outH3318 of the borderH1366 of the AmoritesH567: for ArnonH769 is the borderH1366 of MoabH4124, betweenH996 MoabH4124 and the AmoritesH567.

14Wherefore it is saidH559 in the bookH5612 of the WarsH4421 of the LORDH3068, Vaheb in Suphah, And the valleysH5158 of ArnonH769,

15And the slopeH793 of the valleysH5158 That inclineth toward the dwellingH3427 of ArH6144, And leaneth uponH3427 the borderH1366 of MoabH4124.

16And from thence they journeyed to BeerH876: that is the wellH875 whereof the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto MosesH4872, GatherH622 the peopleH5971 togetherH622, and I will giveH5414 them waterH4325.

17Then sangH7891 IsraelH3478 this songH7892: SpringH5927 upH5927, O wellH875; singH7891 ye unto it:

18The wellH875, which the princesH8269 digged, Which the noblesH5081 of the peopleH5971 delved, With the sceptre, and with their staves. And from the wildernessH4057 they journeyed to MattanahH4980:

19and from MattanahH4980 to NahalielH5160: and from NahalielH5160 to BamothH1120:

20and from BamothH1120 to the valleyH1516 that is in the fieldH7704 of MoabH4124, to the topH7218 of PisgahH6449, whichH834 looketh downH8259 uponH5921 the desertH3452.

21And IsraelH3478 sentH7971 messengersH4397 unto SihonH5511 kingH4428 of the AmoritesH567, sayingH559,

22LetH5186 meH3808 passH5674 throughH5674 thy landH776: weH834 will notH3808 turnH5186 asideH5186 intoH776 fieldH7704, or intoH776 vineyardH3754; weH834 will notH3808 drinkH8354 of the waterH4325 of the wellsH875: weH834 will goH5674 by the king’sH4428 highH5186 wayH1870, untilH5704 weH834 have passedH5674 thy borderH1366.

23And SihonH5511 would notH3808 suffer IsraelH3478 to passH5674 throughH5674 his borderH1366: but SihonH5511 gatheredH622 allH3605 his peopleH5971 togetherH622, and wentH3318 outH3318 againstH7125 IsraelH3478 intoH935 the wildernessH4057, and cameH935 to JahazH3096: and he foughtH3898 againstH7125 IsraelH3478.

24And IsraelH3478 smoteH5221 him with the edgeH6310 of the swordH2719, and possessedH3423 his landH776 from ArnonH769 unto JabbokH2999, evenH5704 unto the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983: for the borderH1366 of the childrenH1121 of AmmonH5983 was strongH5794.

25And IsraelH3478 tookH3947 allH3605 theseH428 citiesH5892: and IsraelH3478 dweltH3427 in allH3605 the citiesH5892 of the AmoritesH567, in HeshbonH2809, and in allH3605 the townsH1323 thereof.

26For HeshbonH2809 was the cityH5892 of SihonH5511 the kingH4428 of the AmoritesH567, who had foughtH3898 againstH3027 the formerH7223 kingH4428 of MoabH4124, and takenH3947 allH3605 his landH776 outH3605 of his handH3027, evenH5704 unto ArnonH769.
