Revised Version 1895
Numbers 14:7-24
and they spake unto allH3605 the congregationH5712 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, sayingH559, The landH776, whichH834 weH834 passedH5674 throughH5674 to spyH8446 it outH413, is an exceedingH3966 goodH2896 landH776.
IfH518 the LORDH3068 delightH2654 in usH5414, then he will bringH935 usH5414 intoH413 this landH776, and giveH5414 it unto usH5414; a landH776 whichH834 floweth with milkH2461 and honeyH1706.
OnlyH389 rebelH4775 notH408 againstH5921 the LORDH3068, neitherH408 fearH3372 ye the peopleH5971 of the landH776; for they are breadH3899 for usH5921: their defence is removedH5493 from over them, and the LORDH3068 is with usH5921: fearH3372 them notH408.
But allH3605 the congregationH5712 bade stoneH68 them with stonesH68. And the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068 appearedH7200 in the tentH168 of meetingH4150 unto allH3605 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478.
And the LORDH3068 saidH559 unto MosesH4872, HowH834 longH5704 will this peopleH5971 despiseH5006 meH413? and howH834 longH5704 will they notH3808 believeH539 in meH413, for allH3605 the signsH226 whichH834 I have wrought among them?
I will smiteH5221 them with the pestilenceH1698, and disinherit them, and will makeH6213 of thee a nationH1471 greaterH1419 and mightierH6099 thanH4480 they.
And MosesH4872 saidH559 unto the LORDH3068, Then the EgyptiansH4713 shall hearH8085 it; for thou broughtest upH5927 this peopleH5971 in thy might from among them;
and they will tellH559 it to the inhabitantsH3427 of this landH776: they have heardH8085 that thou LORDH3068 art in the midstH7130 of this peopleH5971; for thou LORDH3068 art seenH7200 faceH6440 to faceH6440, and thy cloudH6051 standeth over them, and thou goest beforeH6440 them, in a pillarH5982 of cloudH6051 by dayH3119, and in a pillarH5982 of fireH784 by nightH3915.
NowH2088 ifH834 thou shalt killH4191 this peopleH5971 as one manH376, then the nationsH1471 whichH834 have heardH8085 the fameH8088 of thee will speakH559, sayingH559,
BecauseH834 the LORDH3068 was notH3201 ableH3201 to bringH935 this peopleH5971 intoH413 the landH776 whichH834 he sware unto them, therefore he hath slainH7819 them in the wildernessH4057.
And nowH6258, I prayH4994 thee, letH4994 the powerH3581 of the LordH136 be greatH1431, according as thou hast spokenH1696, sayingH559,
The LORDH3068 is slowH750 to angerH639, and plenteous in mercyH3068, forgivingH5375 iniquityH5771 and transgressionH6588, and that will by noH3808 meansH5352 clearH5352 the guiltyH5771; visitingH6485 the iniquityH5771 of the fathersH1 uponH5921 the childrenH1121, uponH5921 the thirdH8029 and uponH5921 the fourthH7256 generationH8029.
PardonH5545, I prayH4994 thee, the iniquityH5771 of this peopleH5971 according unto the greatnessH1433 of thy mercy, and according as thou hast forgivenH5545 this peopleH5971, from EgyptH4714 evenH5704 untilH5704 nowH4994.
And the LORDH3068 saidH559, I have pardonedH5545 according to thy wordH1697:
but in very deed, as I liveH2416, and as allH3605 the earthH776 shall be filledH4390 with the gloryH3519 of the LORDH3068;
becauseH3588 allH3605 thoseH3605 menH376 whichH834 have seenH7200 my gloryH3519, and my signsH226, whichH834 I wrought in EgyptH4714 and in the wildernessH4057, yet have temptedH5254 meH6963 theseH2088 tenH6235 timesH6471, and have notH3808 hearkened to my voiceH6963;
surelyH518 they shall notH3808 seeH7200 the landH776 whichH834 I sware unto their fathersH1, neitherH3808 shall anyH3605 of them that despisedH5006 meH7200 seeH7200 it:
but my servantH5650 CalebH3612, becauseH834 he had anotherH312 spiritH7307 with him, and hath followedH310 meH413 fullyH4390, him will I bringH935 intoH413 the landH776 whereinto he wentH935; and his seedH2233 shall possessH3423 it.
