Revised Version 1895
Kings 5:2-9
And SolomonH8010 sent to Hiram, saying,
Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house for the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet.
But nowH1961 the LORD my God hath given meH1961 restH1961 on everyH3605 sideH5439; there is neither adversary, nor evil occurrent.
And, behold, I purpose to build an house for the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto DavidH3117 my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will setH3427 uponH3427 thy throne in thy room, he shall build the house for my name.
NowH1961 therefore command thou that they hew meH1961 cedar trees outH8147 of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants; and I will giveH1961 thee hire for thy servants according to allH505 that thou shalt say: for thou knowest that there is notH1961 among us anyH1961 that canH8147 skill to hew timber like unto the Zidonians.
And it cameH413 to pass, when Hiram heard the wordsH1697 of SolomonH8010, that he rejoiced greatly, and saidH413, Blessed be the LORD this dayH2320, whichH428 hath given unto David a wise son over this great peopleH376.
And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, I have heard the message whichH834 thou hast sent unto meH413: I will doH935 allH376 thy desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning timber of fir.
My servants shall bringH5414 them downH5414 from Lebanon unto the seaH3220: and I will makeH5414 them intoH5921 rafts to go by seaH3220 unto the placeH5414 that thou shalt appointH5414 meH5414, and will causeH5414 them to be broken upH5921 there, and thou shalt receiveH5414 them: and thou shalt accomplish my desire, in givingH5414 food for my household.
