Revised Version 1895
Kings 20:26-34
And it cameH1961 to passH1961 at the returnH8666 of the yearH8141, that Ben-hadadH1130 musteredH6485 the Syrians, and wentH5927 upH5927 to AphekH663, to fightH4421 againstH5973 IsraelH3478.
And the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 were musteredH6485, and were victualled, and wentH7125 againstH7125 them: and the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 encampedH2583 beforeH5048 them like twoH8147 littleH2835 flocksH2835 of kids; but the Syrians filledH4390 the countryH776.
And a manH376 of GodH430 cameH5066 nearH5066 and spake unto the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, and saidH559, ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, BecauseH3588 the Syrians have saidH559, The LORDH3068 is a godH430 of the hillsH2022, but he is notH3808 a godH430 of the valleysH6010; therefore will I deliverH5414 allH3605 this greatH1419 multitudeH1995 intoH413 thine handH3027, and ye shall knowH3045 that I am the LORDH3068.
And they encampedH2583 one over againstH4421 the otherH259 sevenH7651 daysH3117. And soH1961 it was, that in the seventhH7637 dayH3117 the battleH4421 was joinedH7126; and the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 slewH5221 of the Syrians an hundredH3967 thousandH505 footmenH7273 in one dayH3117.
But the restH3498 fledH5127 to AphekH663, intoH413 the cityH5892; and the wallH2346 fellH5307 uponH5921 twentyH6242 and sevenH7651 thousandH505 menH376 that were leftH3498. And Ben-hadadH1130 fledH5127, and cameH935 intoH413 the cityH5892, intoH413 an innerH2315 chamberH2315.
And his servantsH5650 saidH559 unto him, BeholdH2009 nowH4994, weH3588 have heardH8085 that the kingsH4428 of the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 are merciful kingsH4428: letH4994 usH4994, weH3588 prayH4994 thee, putH7760 sackclothH8242 on our loinsH4975, and ropesH2256 uponH413 our headsH7218, and goH3318 outH3318 to the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478: peradventure he will saveH5315 thy lifeH5315.
SoH935 they girdedH2296 sackclothH8242 on their loinsH4975, and putH935 ropesH2256 on their headsH7218, and cameH935 to the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, and saidH559, Thy servantH5650 Ben-hadadH1130 saith, I prayH4994 thee, letH4994 meH413 liveH2421. And he saidH559, Is he yet aliveH2416? he is my brotherH251.
NowH935 the menH376 observed diligently, and hasted to catch whetherH4480 it were his mind; and they saidH559, Thy brotherH251 Ben-hadadH1130. Then he saidH559, GoH3318 ye, bringH935 him. Then Ben-hadadH1130 cameH935 forthH3318 to him; and he caused him to comeH935 upH5927 intoH413 the chariotH4818.
And Ben-hadad saidH559 unto him, The citiesH5892 whichH834 my fatherH1 tookH3947 from thy fatherH1 I will restoreH7725; and thou shalt makeH7760 streetsH2351 for thee in DamascusH1834, as my fatherH1 madeH3772 in SamariaH8111. And I, saidH559 AhabH559, will letH7971 thee goH7971 with this covenantH1285. SoH3947 he madeH3772 a covenantH1285 with him, and letH7971 him goH7971.
