Revised Version 1895
Kings 16:2-13
Forasmuch as I exaltedH7311 thee outH4480 of the dustH6083, and madeH5414 thee princeH5057 over my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478; and thou hast walked in the wayH1870 of JeroboamH3379, and hast madeH5414 my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478 to sinH2398, to provokeH3707 meH5414 to angerH3707 with their sinsH2398;
beholdH2005, I will utterly sweep awayH310 BaashaH1201 and his houseH1004; and I will makeH5414 thy houseH1004 like the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379 the sonH1121 of NebatH5028.
Him that dieth of BaashaH1201 in the cityH5892 shall the dogsH3611 eatH398; and him that dieth of his in the fieldH7704 shall the fowls of the air eatH398.
NowH3117 the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of BaashaH1201, and whatH834 he didH6213, and his might, are they notH3808 writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 of the chroniclesH1697 of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478?
And BaashaH1201 sleptH7901 with his fathersH1, and was buriedH6912 in TirzahH8656; and ElahH425 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his steadH8478.
And moreoverH1571 by the handH3027 of the prophetH5030 JehuH3058 the sonH1121 of HananiH2607 cameH1961 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 againstH5921 BaashaH1201, and againstH5921 his houseH1004, bothH1571 becauseH5921 of allH3605 the evilH7451 that he didH6213 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, to provokeH3707 him to angerH3707 with the workH4639 of his handsH3027, in beingH1961 like the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379, and becauseH5921 he smoteH5221 him.
In the twentyH6242 and sixth yearH8141 of AsaH609 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 began ElahH425 the sonH1121 of BaashaH1201 to reignH4427 over IsraelH3478 in TirzahH8656, and reignedH4427 two yearsH8141.
And his servantH5650 ZimriH2174, captainH8269 of halfH4276 his chariotsH7393, conspiredH7194 againstH5921 him: now he was in TirzahH8656, drinkingH8354 himselfH1931 drunkH8354 in the houseH1004 of ArzaH777, whichH834 was over the householdH1004 in TirzahH8656:
and ZimriH2174 wentH935 in and smoteH5221 him, and killedH5221 him, in the twentyH6242 and seventhH7651 yearH8141 of AsaH609 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, and reignedH4427 in his steadH8478.
And it cameH1961 to passH1961, when he beganH1961 to reignH4427, as soon as he satH3427 on his throneH3678, that he smoteH5221 allH3605 the houseH1004 of BaashaH1201: he leftH7604 him notH3808 a single manH3605 child, neitherH3808 of his kinsfolks, norH3808 of his friendsH7453.
Thus didH834 ZimriH2174 destroyH8045 allH3605 the houseH1004 of BaashaH1201, accordingH413 to the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, whichH834 he spake againstH413 BaashaH1201 by JehuH3058 the prophetH5030,
for allH3605 the sinsH2398 of BaashaH1201, and the sinsH2398 of ElahH425 his sonH1121, whichH834 they sinnedH2398, and wherewith they madeH3605 IsraelH3478 to sinH2398, to provokeH3707 the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, to angerH3707 with their vanitiesH1892.
