Kings 11:14-28
And the LORDH3068 raisedH6965 upH6965 an adversaryH7854 unto SolomonH8010, HadadH1908 the EdomiteH130: he was of the king’sH4428 seedH2233 in EdomH123.
For it cameH1961 to passH1961, when DavidH1732 was in EdomH123, and JoabH3097 the captainH8269 of the hostH6635 was goneH5927 upH5927 to buryH6912 the slainH5221, and had smittenH5221 everyH3605 maleH2145 in EdomH123;
(for JoabH3097 and allH3605 IsraelH3478 remainedH3427 there sixH8337 monthsH2320, untilH5704 he had cutH3772 offH3772 everyH3605 maleH2145 in EdomH123;)
that HadadH1908 fledH1272, he and certainH376 EdomitesH130 of his father’sH1 servantsH5650 with him, to goH935 intoH935 EgyptH4714; HadadH1908 being yet a littleH6996 childH5288.
And they aroseH6965 outH413 of MidianH4080, and cameH935 to ParanH6290: and they tookH3947 menH376 with them outH413 of ParanH6290, and they cameH935 to EgyptH4714 unto PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714; whichH3899 gaveH5414 him an houseH1004, and appointedH5414 him victuals, and gaveH5414 him landH776.
And HadadH1908 foundH4672 greatH3966 favour in the sightH5869 of PharaohH6547, soH5414 that he gaveH5414 him to wifeH802 the sisterH269 of his ownH5869 wifeH802, the sisterH269 of TahpenesH8472 the queenH1377,
And the sisterH269 of TahpenesH8472 bare him GenubathH1592 his sonH1121, whom TahpenesH8472 weanedH1580 in Pharaoh’sH6547 houseH1004: and GenubathH1592 was in Pharaoh’sH6547 houseH1004 among the sonsH1121 of PharaohH6547.
And when HadadH1908 heardH8085 in EgyptH4714 that DavidH1732 sleptH7901 with his fathersH1, and that JoabH3097 the captainH8269 of the hostH6635 was deadH4191, HadadH1908 saidH559 to PharaohH6547, LetH7971 meH413 depart, that I may goH7971 to mineH5973 ownH5973 countryH776.
Then PharaohH6547 saidH559 unto him, But whatH4100 hast thou lackedH2638 with meH413, that, beholdH2005, thou seekest to goH7971 to thine ownH5973 countryH776? And he answeredH559, NothingH3808: howbeit letH7971 meH413 depart in anyH3588 wise.
And GodH430 raisedH6965 upH6965 another adversaryH7854 unto him, RezonH7331 the sonH1121 of EliadaH450, whichH834 had fledH1272 from his lordH113 HadadezerH1909 kingH4428 of ZobahH6678:
And he gatheredH6908 menH376 unto him, and becameH1961 captainH8269 over a troopH1416, when DavidH1732 slewH2026 them of Zobah: and they wentH376 to DamascusH1834, and dweltH3427 therein, and reignedH4427 in DamascusH1834.
And he was an adversaryH7854 to IsraelH3478 allH3605 the daysH3117 of SolomonH8010, besideH5921 the mischief that HadadH1908 didH834: and he abhorredH6973 IsraelH3478, and reignedH4427 over SyriaH758.
And JeroboamH3379 the sonH1121 of NebatH5028, an EphraimiteH673 of ZeredahH6868, a servantH5650 of SolomonH8010, whoseH1121 mother’sH517 nameH8034 was ZeruahH6871, a widowH490 womanH802, he also liftedH7311 upH7311 his handH3027 againstH4480 the kingH4428.
And this was the causeH1697 that he liftedH7311 upH7311 his handH3027 againstH3027 the kingH4428: SolomonH8010 builtH1129 MilloH4407, and repaired the breachH6556 of the cityH5892 of DavidH1732 his fatherH1.
And the manH376 JeroboamH3379 was a mightyH1368 manH376 of valour: and SolomonH8010 sawH7200 the youngH5288 manH376 that he was industrious, and he gaveH6213 him chargeH6485 over allH3605 the labour of the houseH1004 of JosephH3130.
