Zechariah 7:8-12

8Then the word of the Lord came to Zechariah saying,

9“Thus has the Lord of hosts said, ‘1Dispense true justice and practice 2kindness and compassion each to his brother;

10and 3do not oppress the widow or the 4orphan, the 5stranger or the poor; and do 6not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’

11But they 7refused to pay attention and 89turned a stubborn shoulder and 1011stopped their ears from hearing.

12They made their 12hearts like 1314flint 15so that they could not hear the law and the 16words which the Lord of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the 17former prophets; therefore great 18wrath came from the Lord of hosts.
