Titus 1:8-16
8but 1hospitable, 2loving what is good, sensible, just, devout, self-controlled, 93holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in 4sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.
105For there are many 6rebellious men, 7empty talkers and deceivers, especially 8those of the circumcision, 11who must be silenced because they are upsetting 9whole families, teaching 10things they should not teach 11for the sake of sordid gain. 12One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, “12Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.” 13This testimony is true. For this reason 13reprove them 14severely so that they may be 15sound in the faith, 14not paying attention to Jewish 16myths and 17commandments of men who 18turn away from the truth. 1519To the pure, all things are pure; but 20to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their 21mind and their conscience are defiled. 1622They profess to know God, but by their deeds they 23deny Him, being 24detestable and 25disobedient and 26worthless 27for any good deed.
