Nahum 1:9-15
9Whatever you 1devise against the Lord, He will make a 2complete end of it. Distress will not rise up twice.10Like tangled 3thorns, And like those who are 4drunken with their drink, They are 5consumed As stubble completely withered.11From you has gone forth One who 6plotted evil against the Lord, A 78wicked counselor. 12Thus says the Lord, “Though they are at full strength and likewise many, Even so, they will be 9cut off and pass away. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you 10no longer.13So now, I will 11break his yoke bar from upon you, And I will tear off your shackles.”
14The Lord has issued a command concerning 12you: “13Your name will 14no longer be perpetuated. I will cut off 1516idol and 17image From the house of your gods. I will prepare your 18grave, For you are contemptible.”
1519Behold, 20on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace! 21Celebrate your feasts, O Judah; Pay your vows. For 22never again will the 23wicked one pass through you; He is 24cut off completely.
