Micah 7:1-7
1Woe is me! For I am Like the fruit pickers, like the 1grape gatherers. There is not a cluster of grapes to eat, Or a 2first-ripe fig which 3I crave.2The 4godly person has 5perished from the land, And there is no upright person among men. All of them lie in wait for 6bloodshed; Each of them hunts the other with a 7net.3Concerning evil, both hands do it 8well. The prince asks, also the judge, for a 9bribe, And a great man speaks the desire of his soul; So they weave it together.4The best of them is like a 10briar, The most upright like a 11thorn hedge. The day when you post your watchmen, Your 12punishment will come. Then their 13confusion will occur.5Do not 14trust in a neighbor; Do not have confidence in a friend. From her who lies in your bosom Guard 15your lips.6For 16son treats father contemptuously, Daughter rises up against her mother, Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 17A man’s enemies are the men of his own household.
7But as for me, I will 18watch expectantly for the Lord; I will 19wait for the God of my salvation. My 20God will hear me.
