Lamentations 5:6-12
6We have 1submitted to 2Egypt and Assyria 3to get enough bread.7Our 4fathers sinned, and are no more; It is we who have borne their iniquities.85Slaves rule over us; There is 6no one to deliver us from their hand.9We get our bread 7at the 8risk of our lives 9Because of the sword in the wilderness.10Our skin has become as 10hot as an oven, Because of 11the burning heat of famine.11They ravished the 12women in Zion, The virgins in the cities of Judah.12Princes were hung by their hands; 1314Elders were not respected.
