Lamentations 4:1-6
1How 1dark the gold has become, How the pure gold has changed! The sacred stones are poured out At the 2corner of every street.2The precious sons of Zion, Weighed against fine gold, How they are regarded as 3earthen jars, The work of a potter’s hands!3Even 4jackals offer the breast, They nurse their young; But the daughter of my people has become 5cruel Like 6ostriches in the wilderness.4The 7tongue of the infant cleaves To the roof of its mouth because of 8thirst; The little ones 9ask for bread, But no one breaks it for them.5Those who ate 10delicacies Are desolate in the streets; Those 11reared in purple Embrace ash pits.6For the 12iniquity of the daughter of my people Is greater than the 1314sin of Sodom, Which was 15overthrown as in a moment, And no hands were 16turned toward her.
