Lamentations 3:21-39
21This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have 1hope.22The Lord’s 2lovingkindnesses 3indeed never cease, 4For His compassions never fail.23They are new 5every morning; Great is 6Your faithfulness.24“The Lord is my 7portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I 8have hope in Him.”25The Lord is good to those who 9wait for Him, To the 10person who 11seeks Him.26It is good that he 12waits silently For the salvation of the Lord.27It is good for a man that he should bear The yoke in his youth.28Let him 13sit alone and be silent Since He has laid it on him.29Let him 14put his mouth in the 15dust, Perhaps there is 16hope.30Let him give his 17cheek to 18the smiter, Let him be filled with reproach.31For the Lord will 19not reject forever,32For if He causes grief, Then He will have 20compassion According to His abundant lovingkindness.33For He 21does not afflict 22willingly Or grieve the sons of men.34To crush under His feet All the prisoners of the 23land,35To 24deprive a man of 25justice In the presence of the Most High,36To 2627defraud a man in his lawsuit-- Of these things the Lord does not 28approve.37Who is 29there who speaks and it 30comes to pass, Unless the Lord has commanded it?38Is it not from the mouth of the Most High That 3132both good and ill go forth?
39Why should any living 33mortal, or any man, Offer 34complaint 35in view of his sins?
