John 5:33-40

33You have sent to John, and he 1has testified to the truth.

34But 2the testimony which I receive is not from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved.

35He was 3the lamp that was burning and was shining and you 4were willing to rejoice for 5a while in his light.

36But the testimony which I have is greater than the testimony of John; for 6the works which the Father has given Me 7to accomplish--the very works that I do--testify about Me, that the Father 8has sent Me.

37And the Father who sent Me, 9He has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His form.

38You do not have 10His word abiding in you, for you do not believe Him whom He 11sent.

391213You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is 14these that testify about Me;

40and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.
