John 5:21-30

21For just as the Father raises the dead and 1gives them life, even so 2the Son also gives life to whom He wishes. 22For not even the Father judges anyone, but 3He has given all judgment to the Son, 23so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. 4He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

24“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and 5believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and 6does not come into judgment, but has 7passed out of death into life. 25Truly, truly, I say to you, 8an hour is coming and now is, when 9the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who 10hear will live. 26For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He 11gave to the Son also to have life in Himself; 27and He gave Him authority to 12execute judgment, because He is 13the Son of Man. 28Do not marvel at this; for 14an hour is coming, in which 15all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, 29and will come forth; 16those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

30“17I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and 18My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but 19the will of Him who sent Me.
