John 15:14-21

14You are My 1friends if 2you do what I command you. 15No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for 3all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. 164You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and 5bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that 6whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. 17This 7I command you, that you love one another.

18“8If the world hates you, 9you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. 19If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but 10I chose you out of the world, 11because of this the world hates you. 20Remember the word that I said to you, ‘12A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, 13they will also persecute you; if they 14kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21But all these things they will do to you 15for My name’s sake, 16because they do not know the One who sent Me.
