John 1:26-36
26John answered them saying, “1I baptize 2in water, but among you stands One whom you do not know. 27It is 3He who comes after me, the 4thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.” 28These things took place in Bethany 5beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, 6the Lamb of God who 7takes away the sin of the world! 30This is He on behalf of whom I said, ‘8After me comes a Man who 9has a higher rank than I, 10for He existed before me.’ 31I did not recognize 11Him, but so that He might be manifested to Israel, I came baptizing 12in water.” 32John 13testified saying, “14I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him. 33I did not recognize 15Him, but He who sent me to baptize 16in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, 17this is the One who baptizes 18in the Holy Spirit.’ 34I myself have seen, and have testified that this is 19the Son of God.”
35Again 20the next day John was standing 21with two of his disciples, 36and he looked at Jesus as He walked, and said, “Behold, 22the Lamb of God!”
