Genesis 35:2-4
2So Jacob said to his 1household and to all who were with him, “Put away 2the foreign gods which are among you, and 3purify yourselves and change your garments; 3and let us arise and go up to Bethel, and I will make 4an altar there to God, 5who answered me in the day of my distress and 6has been with me 7wherever I have gone.” 4So they gave to Jacob all the foreign gods which 8they had and the rings which were in their ears, and Jacob hid them under the 9oak which was near Shechem.
