Genesis 15:7-10
And He said to him, “I am the Lord who brought you out of 1Ur of the Chaldeans, to 2give you this land to 3possess it.”
He said, “O Lord 4God, 5how may I know that I will 6possess it?”
So He said to him, “7Bring Me a three year old heifer, and a three year old female goat, and a three year old ram, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.”
Then he 8brought all these to Him and 9cut them 10in two, and laid each half opposite the other; but he 11did not cut the birds.
