Esther 9:17-19
17This was done on 1the thirteenth day of the month Adar, and 2on the fourteenth 3day they rested and made it a day of feasting and rejoicing.
18But the Jews who were in Susa 4assembled on the thirteenth and 5the fourteenth 6of the same month, and they rested on the fifteenth 7day and made it a day of feasting and rejoicing. 19Therefore the Jews of the rural areas, who live in 8the rural towns, make the fourteenth day of the month Adar a 910holiday for rejoicing and feasting and 11sending portions of food to one another.
