Colossians 2:9-23
9For in Him all the 1fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10and in Him you have been 2made 3complete, and 4He is the head 5over all 6rule and authority; 11and in Him 7you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of 8the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; 12having been 9buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also 10raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who 11raised Him from the dead. 13When you were 12dead 13in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He 14made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 14having canceled out 15the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and 16He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15When He had 1718disarmed the 19rulers and authorities, He 20made a public display of them, having 21triumphed over them through 22Him.
16Therefore no one is to 2324act as your judge in regard to 25food or 26drink or in respect to a 27festival or a 28new moon or a 29Sabbath 30day-- 17things which are 31a mere shadow of what is to come; but the 32substance 33belongs to Christ. 18Let no one keep 3435defrauding you of your prize by 36delighting in 37self-abasement and the worship of the angels, 38taking his stand on visions he has seen, 3940inflated without cause by his 41fleshly mind, 19and not holding fast to 42the head, from whom 43the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and 44ligaments, grows with a growth 45which is from God.
2046If you have died with Christ 47to the 48elementary principles of the world, 49why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to 50decrees, such as, 21“Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!” 22(which all refer 51to things destined to perish 52with use)--in accordance with the 53commandments and teachings of men? 23These are matters which have, to be sure, the 54appearance of wisdom in 5556self-made religion and self-abasement and 57severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against 58fleshly indulgence.
