Acts 2:34-41
34For it was not David who ascended into 1heaven, but he himself says: ‘2The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand,35Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”’ 36Therefore let all the 3house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both 4Lord and 5Christ--this Jesus 6whom you crucified.”
37Now when they heard this, they were 7pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “8Brethren, 910what shall we do?” 38Peter said to them, “11Repent, and each of you be 12baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39For 13the promise is for you and your children and for all who are 14far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” 40And with many other words he solemnly 15testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, “16Be saved from this 17perverse generation!” 41So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand 1819souls.
