Acts 13:16-23

16Paul stood up, and 1motioning with his hand said,

“Men of Israel, and 2you who fear God, listen: 17The God of this people Israel 3chose our fathers and 45made the people great during their stay in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm 6He led them out from it. 18For 7a period of about forty years 8He put up with them in the wilderness. 199When He had destroyed 10seven nations in the land of Canaan, He 11distributed their land as an inheritance--all of which took 12about four hundred and fifty years. 20After these things He 13gave them judges until 14Samuel the prophet. 21Then they 15asked for a king, and God gave them 16Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22After He had 17removed him, He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said, ‘18I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My 19will.’ 2320From the descendants of this man, 21according to promise, God has brought to Israel 22a Savior, Jesus,
