2 Samuel 8:2-6
21He 2defeated 3Moab, and measured them with the line, making them lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death and one full line to keep alive. And 4the Moabites became servants to David, 5bringing tribute.
3Then David 6defeated 7Hadadezer, the son of Rehob king of Zobah, as 8he went to restore his 9rule at the 10River. 4David captured from him 1,700 horsemen and 20,000 foot soldiers; and David 11hamstrung the chariot horses, but reserved enough of them for 100 chariots. 5When 12the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer, king of Zobah, David 13killed 22,000 Arameans. 6Then David put garrisons among the Arameans of Damascus, and 14the Arameans became servants to David, bringing tribute. And 15the Lord helped David wherever he went.
