1 Kings 9:15-24

15Now this is the account of the forced labor which King Solomon 1levied to build the house of the Lord, his own house, the 23Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, 4Hazor, 5Megiddo, and 6Gezer. 16For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and captured Gezer and burned it with fire, and killed the 7Canaanites who lived in the city, and had 8given it as a dowry to his daughter, Solomon’s wife. 17So Solomon rebuilt Gezer and the lower 9Beth-horon 18and 10Baalath and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land of Judah, 19and all the storage cities which Solomon had, even 11the cities for 12his chariots and the cities for 1314his horsemen, and 1516all that it pleased Solomon to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land 17under his rule. 20As for all the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, who were not of the sons of Israel, 2118their descendants who were left after them in the land 19whom the sons of Israel were unable to destroy utterly, 20from them Solomon levied 21forced laborers, even to this day. 22But Solomon 22did not make slaves of the sons of Israel; for they were men of war, his servants, his princes, his captains, his chariot commanders, and his horsemen.

23These were the 2324chief officers who were over Solomon’s work, five hundred and fifty, 25who ruled over the people doing the work.

24As soon as 26Pharaoh’s daughter came up from the city of David to her house which Solomon had built for her, 27then he built the Millo.
