Zechariah 8

1Again the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635came to me,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

2Thus saithאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635;I was jealousקִנֵּ֥אתִיki.Ne.tiH7065for Zionלְצִיּ֖וֹןle.tzi.YonH6726with greatגְדוֹלָ֑הge.do.LahH1419jealousyקִנְאָ֣הkin.'AhH7068,and I was jealousקִנֵּ֥אתִיki.Ne.tiH7065for her with greatגְדוֹלָ֖הge.do.LahH1419furyוְחֵמָ֥הve.che.MahH2534.

3Thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068;I am returnedשַׁ֚בְתִּיShav.tiH7725unto Zionצִיּ֔וֹןtzi.YonH6726,and will dwellוְשָׁכַנְתִּ֖יve.sha.khan.TiH7931in the midstבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of Jerusalemיְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389:and Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ye.ru.sha.LimH3389shall be calledוְנִקְרְאָ֤הve.nik.re.'AhH7121a cityעִ֣יר־'Ir-H5892of truthהָֽאֱמֶ֔תha.'e.MetH571;and the mountainוְהַר־ve.har-H2022of the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635the holyהַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ סha.Ko.deshH6944mountainהַ֥רharH2022.

4Thus saithאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635;There shall yet old menזְקֵנִ֣יםze.ke.NimH2205and old womenוּזְקֵנ֔וֹתu.ze.ke.NotH2205dwellיֵֽשְׁבוּ֙ye.she.VuH3427in the streetsבִּרְחֹב֖וֹתbir.cho.VotH7339of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389,and every manוְאִ֧ישׁve.'IshH376with his staffמִשְׁעַנְתּ֛וֹmish.'an.ToH4938in his handבְּיָד֖וֹbe.ya.DoH3027for veryמֵרֹ֥בme.RoH7230ageיָמִֽים׃ya.MimH3117.

5And the streetsוּרְחֹב֤וֹתu.re.cho.VotH7339of the cityהָעִיר֙ha.'IrH5892shall be fullיִמָּ֣לְא֔וּyi.Mal.'UH4390of boysיְלָדִ֖יםye.la.DimH3206and girlsוִֽילָד֑וֹתvi.la.DotH3207playingמְשַׂחֲקִ֖יםme.sa.cha.KimH7832in the streetsבִּרְחֹֽבֹתֶֽיהָ׃ סbir.Cho.o.Tei.haH7339thereof.

6Thus saithאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635;If it be marvellousיִפָּלֵ֗אyi.pa.Le'H6381in the eyesבְּעֵינֵי֙be.'ei.NeiH5869of the remnantשְׁאֵרִית֙she.'e.RitH7611of this peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971in these daysבַּיָּמִ֖יםbai.ya.MimH3117,should it also be marvellousיִפָּלֵ֔אyi.pa.Le'H6381in mine eyesבְּעֵינַי֙be.'ei.NaiH5869?saithנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃ פtze.va.'otH6635.

7Thus saithאָמַר֙'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635;Behold, I will saveמוֹשִׁ֛יעַmo.Shi.a'H3467my peopleעַמִּ֖י'a.MiH5971from the eastמִזְרָ֑חmiz.RachH4217countryמֵאֶ֣רֶץme.'E.retzH776,and from the westמְב֥וֹא הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃me.Vo' ha.Sha.meshH8121 H3996countryוּמֵאֶ֖רֶץu.me.'E.retzH776;

8And I will bringוְהֵבֵאתִ֣יve.he.ve.TiH935them, and they shall dwellוְשָׁכְנ֖וּve.sha.khe.NuH7931in the midstבְּת֣וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָ֑םye.ru.sha.LimH3389:and they shall be my peopleלְעָ֗םle.'AmH5971,and I will be their Godלֵֽאלֹהִ֔יםle.lo.HimH430,in truthבֶּאֱמֶ֖תbe.'e.MetH571and in righteousnessוּבִצְדָקָֽה׃ סu.vitz.da.KahH6666.

9Thus saithאָמַר֮'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאוֹת֒tze.va.'OtH6635;Let your handsיְדֵיכֶ֔םye.dei.KhemH3027be strongתֶּחֱזַ֣קְנָהte.che.Zak.nahH2388,ye that hearהַשֹּֽׁמְעִים֙ha.sho.me.'ImH8085in these daysבַּיָּמִ֣יםbai.ya.MimH3117these wordsהַדְּבָרִ֣יםha.de.va.RimH1697by the mouthמִפִּי֙mi.PiH6310of the prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֔יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030, which werein the dayבְּי֞וֹםbe.YomH3117thatthe foundationH3245of the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָ֧הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֛וֹתtze.va.'otH6635was laidH3245,that the templeהַהֵיכָ֖לha.hei.KhalH1964might be builtלְהִבָּנֽוֹת׃le.hi.ba.NotH1129.

10For beforeלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440these daysהַיָּמִ֣יםhai.ya.MimH3117there wasנִֽהְיָ֔הnih.YahH1961no hireשְׂכַ֤רse.KharH7939for manהָֽאָדָם֙ha.'a.DamH120,nor any hireוּשְׂכַ֥רu.se.KharH7939for beastהַבְּהֵמָ֖הha.be.he.MahH929; neither was there anypeaceשָׁלוֹם֙sha.lOmH7965to him that went outוְלַיּוֹצֵ֨אve.lai.yo.Tze'H3318or came inוְלַבָּ֤אve.la.Ba'H935because of the afflictionהַצָּ֔רha.TzarH6862:for I setוַאֲשַׁלַּ֥חva.'a.sha.LachH7971all menהָאָדָ֖םha.'a.DamH120every oneאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376against his neighbourבְּרֵעֵֽהוּ׃be.re.'E.huH7453.

11But now I will not beunto the residueלִשְׁאֵרִ֖יתlish.'e.RitH7611of this peopleהָעָ֣םha.'AmH5971as in the formerהָרִֽאשֹׁנִים֙ha.ri.sho.NimH7223daysכַיָּמִ֤יםkhai.ya.MimH3117,saithנְאֻ֖םne.'UmH5002the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635.

12For the seedזֶ֣רַעZe.ra'H2233shall beprosperousהַשָּׁל֗וֹםha.sha.LomH7965;the vineהַגֶּ֜פֶןha.Ge.fenH1612shall giveתִּתֵּ֤ןti.TenH5414her fruitפִּרְיָהּ֙pir.YahH6529,and the groundוְהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ve.ha.'A.retzH776shall giveתִּתֵּ֣ןti.TenH5414her increaseיְבוּלָ֔הּye.vu.LahH2981,and the heavensוְהַשָּׁמַ֖יִםve.ha.sha.Ma.yimH8064shall giveיִתְּנ֣וּyi.te.NuH5414their dewטַלָּ֑םta.LamH2919;and I will cause the remnantשְׁאֵרִ֛יתshe.'e.RitH7611of this peopleהָעָ֥םha.'AmH5971to possessוְהִנְחַלְתִּ֗יve.hin.chal.TiH5157all these things.

13And it shall come to pass, thatas ye were a curseקְלָלָ֜הke.la.LahH7045among the heathenבַּגּוֹיִ֗םba.go.YimH1471,O houseבֵּ֤יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063,and houseוּבֵ֣יתu.VeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478;so will I saveאוֹשִׁ֣יעַ'o.Shi.a'H3467you, and ye shall be a blessingבְּרָכָ֑הbe.ra.KhahH1293:fearתִּירָ֖אוּti.Ra.'uH3372not, butlet your handsיְדֵיכֶֽם׃ סye.dei.KhemH3027be strongתֶּחֱזַ֥קְנָהte.che.Zak.nahH2388.

14For thus saithאָמַר֮'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאוֹת֒tze.va.'OtH6635;As I thoughtזָמַמְ֜תִּיza.maM.tiH2161to punishלְהָרַ֣עle.ha.Ra'H7489you, when your fathersאֲבֹֽתֵיכֶם֙'a.vo.tei.KhemH1provoked me to wrathבְּהַקְצִ֤יףbe.hak.TzifH7107,saithאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,and I repentedנִחָֽמְתִּי׃ni.Cha.me.tiH5162not:

15So againשַׁ֤בְתִּיShav.tiH7725have I thoughtזָמַ֙מְתִּי֙za.Mam.tiH2161in these daysבַּיָּמִ֣יםbai.ya.MimH3117to do wellלְהֵיטִ֥יבle.hei.TivH3190unto Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֖םye.ru.sha.LimH3389and to the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063:fearתִּירָֽאוּ׃ti.Ra.'uH3372ye not.

16These arethe thingsהַדְּבָרִ֖יםha.de.va.RimH1697that ye shall doתַּֽעֲשׂ֑וּta.'a.SuH6213;Speakדַּבְּר֤וּda.be.RuH1696ye every manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376the truthאֱמֶת֙'e.MetH571to his neighbourרֵעֵ֔הוּre.'E.huH7453;executeשִׁפְט֖וּshif.TuH8199the judgmentוּמִשְׁפַּ֣טu.mish.PatH4941of truthאֱמֶת֙'e.MetH571and peaceשָׁל֔וֹםsha.LomH7965in your gatesבְּשַׁעֲרֵיכֶֽם׃be.sha.'a.rei.KhemH8179:

17And let noneוְאִ֣ישׁ׀ve.'IshH376of you imagineתַּחְשְׁבוּ֙tach.she.VuH2803evilרָעַ֣תra.'AtH7451in your heartsבִּלְבַבְכֶ֔םbil.vav.KhemH3824against his neighbourרֵעֵ֗הוּre.'E.huH7453;and loveתֶּאֱהָ֑בוּte.'e.Ha.vuH157no falseשֶׁ֖קֶרShe.kerH8267oathוּשְׁבֻ֥עַתu.she.Vu.'atH7621: for all these are thingsthat I hateשָׂנֵ֖אתִיsa.Ne.tiH8130,saithנְאֻם־ne.'um-H5002the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.

19Thus saithאָמַ֞ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֗וֹתtze.va.'otH6635;The fastצ֣וֹםTzomH6685of the fourthהָרְבִיעִ֡יha.re.vi.'IH7243month,and the fastוְצ֣וֹםve.TzomH6685of the fifthהַחֲמִישִׁי֩ha.cha.mi.ShiH2549,and the fastוְצ֨וֹםve.TzomH6685of the seventhהַשְּׁבִיעִ֜יha.she.vi.'IH7637,and the fastוְצ֣וֹםve.TzomH6685of the tenthהָעֲשִׂירִ֗יha.'a.si.RiH6224,shall be to the houseלְבֵית־le.veit-H1004of Judahיְהוּדָה֙ye.hu.DahH3063joyלְשָׂשׂ֣וֹןle.sa.SonH8342and gladnessוּלְשִׂמְחָ֔הu.le.sim.ChahH8057,and cheerfulטוֹבִ֑יםto.VimH2896feastsוּֽלְמֹעֲדִ֖יםu.le.mo.'a.DimH4150;therefore loveאֱהָֽבוּ׃ פ'e.Ha.vuH157the truthוְהָאֱמֶ֥תve.ha.'e.MetH571and peaceוְהַשָּׁל֖וֹםve.ha.sha.LomH7965.

20Thus saithאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635; It shall yet come to pass,that there shall comeיָבֹ֣אוּya.Vo.'uH935peopleעַמִּ֔ים'a.MimH5971,and the inhabitantsוְיֹשְׁבֵ֖יve.yo.she.VeiH3427of manyרַבּֽוֹת׃ra.BotH7227citiesעָרִ֥ים'a.RimH5892:

21And the inhabitantsיֹשְׁבֵי֩yo.she.VeiH3427of oneאַחַ֨ת'a.ChatH259cityshall goH1980to anotherאַחַ֜ת'a.ChatH259,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559,Let us goH3212speedilyH1980to prayלְחַלּוֹת֙le.cha.lOtH2470beforeפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,and to seekוּלְבַקֵּ֖שׁu.le.va.KeshH1245the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֑וֹתtze.va.'otH6635:I will goH3212also.

22Yea, manyרַבִּים֙ra.BimH7227peopleעַמִּ֤ים'a.MimH5971and strongעֲצוּמִ֔ים'a.tzu.MimH6099nationsוְגוֹיִ֣םve.go.YimH1471shall comeוּבָ֨אוּu.Va.'uH935to seekלְבַקֵּ֛שׁle.va.KeshH1245the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635in Jerusalemבִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑םbi.ru.sha.LimH3389,and to prayוּלְחַלּ֖וֹתu.le.cha.LotH2470beforeפְּנֵ֥יpe.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָֽה׃ סYah.wehH3068.

23Thus saithאָמַר֮'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאוֹת֒tze.va.'OtH6635;In those daysבַּיָּמִ֣יםbai.ya.MimH3117it shall come to pass,that tenעֲשָׂרָ֣ה'a.sa.RahH6235menאֲנָשִׁ֔ים'a.na.ShimH582shall take holdיַחֲזִ֙יקוּ֙ya.cha.Zi.kuH2388out of all languagesלְשֹׁנ֣וֹתle.sho.NotH3956of the nationsהַגּוֹיִ֑םha.go.YimH1471,even shall take holdוְֽהֶחֱזִ֡יקוּve.he.che.Zi.kuH2388of the skirtבִּכְנַף֩bikh.NafH3671of him that is a Jewאִ֨ישׁ יְהוּדִ֜י'ish ye.hu.DiH3064 H376,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559,We will goH3212with you: for we have heardשָׁמַ֖עְנוּsha.Ma'.nuH8085thatGodאֱלֹהִ֥ים'E.lo.HimH430is with you.
