2When they had sentוַיִּשְׁלַח֙vai.yish.LachH7971unto the houseH1004of GodH410SherezerH8272and Regem–melechH7278,and their menוַֽאֲנָשָׁ֑יוva.'a.na.ShavH582,to prayלְחַלּ֖וֹתle.cha.LotH2470beforeפְּנֵ֥יpe.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068,

3Andto speakלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559unto the priestsהַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ha.ko.ha.NimH3548which werein the houseלְבֵית־le.veit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָ֣הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֔וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,and to the prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֖יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Should I weepהַֽאֶבְכֶּה֙ha.'ev.KehH1058in the fifthהַחֲמִשִׁ֔יha.cha.mi.ShiH2549monthבַּחֹ֣דֶשׁba.Cho.deshH2320,separatingהִנָּזֵ֕רhi.na.ZerH5144myself, as I have doneעָשִׂ֔יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213these so many yearsשָׁנִֽים׃ פsha.NimH8141?

4Then came the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635unto me, sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

5Speakאֱמֹר֙'e.MorH559unto all the peopleעַ֣ם'amH5971of the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,and to the priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֖יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,When ye fastedצַמְתֶּ֨םtzam.TemH6684and mournedוְסָפ֜וֹדve.sa.FodH5594in the fifthבַּחֲמִישִׁ֣יba.cha.mi.ShiH2549and seventhוּבַשְּׁבִיעִ֗יu.va.she.vi.'IH7637month,even those seventyשִׁבְעִ֣יםshiv.'ImH7657yearsשָׁנָ֔הsha.NahH8141,did ye at allהֲצ֥וֹםha.TzomH6684fastצַמְתֻּ֖נִיtzam.Tu.niH6684unto me, even to me?

6And when ye did eatתֹאכְל֖וּto.khe.LuH398,and when ye did drinkתִשְׁתּ֑וּtish.TuH8354,did not ye eatהָאֹ֣כְלִ֔יםha.'O.khe.LimH398for yourselves,and drinkהַשֹּׁתִֽים׃ha.sho.TimH8354for yourselves?

7Should ye not hearthe wordsהַדְּבָרִ֗יםha.de.va.RimH1697which the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068hath criedקָרָ֤אka.Ra'H7121byבְּיַד֙be.YadH3027the formerהָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֔יםha.ri.sho.NimH7223prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֣יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030,when Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ye.ru.sha.LimH3389was inhabitedיֹשֶׁ֣בֶתyo.She.vetH3427and in prosperityוּשְׁלֵוָ֔הu.she.le.VahH7961,and the citiesוְעָרֶ֖יהָve.'a.Rei.haH5892thereof round about herסְבִיבֹתֶ֑יהָse.vi.vo.Tei.haH5439, when meninhabitedיֹשֵֽׁב׃ פyo.ShevH3427the southוְהַנֶּ֥גֶבve.ha.Ne.gevH5045and the plainוְהַשְּׁפֵלָ֖הve.ha.she.fe.LahH8219?

8And the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068came unto Zechariahזְכַרְיָ֖הze.khar.YahH2148,sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

9Thus speakethאָמַ֛ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָא֖וֹתtze.va.'otH6635,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Executeשְׁפֹ֔טוּshe.Fo.tuH8199trueאֱמֶת֙'e.MetH571judgmentמִשְׁפַּ֤טmish.PatH4941,and shewעֲשׂ֖וּ'a.SuH6213mercyוְחֶ֣סֶדve.Che.sedH2617and compassionsוְרַֽחֲמִ֔יםve.ra.cha.MimH7356every manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376to his brotherאָחִֽיו׃'a.ChivH251:

10And oppressתַּעֲשֹׁ֑קוּta.'a.Sho.kuH6231not the widowוְאַלְמָנָ֧הve.'al.ma.NahH490,nor the fatherlessוְיָת֛וֹםve.ya.TomH3490,the strangerגֵּ֥רgerH1616,nor the poorוְעָנִ֖יve.'a.NiH6041;and let none of you imagineתַּחְשְׁב֖וּtach.she.VuH2803evilוְרָעַת֙ve.ra.'AtH7451againstאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376his brotherאָחִ֔יו'a.ChivH251in your heartבִּלְבַבְכֶֽם׃bil.vav.KhemH3824.

11But they refusedוַיְמָאֲנ֣וּvay.ma.'a.NuH3985to hearkenלְהַקְשִׁ֔יבle.hak.ShivH7181,and pulled awayוַיִּתְּנ֥וּ סֹרָ֑רֶתvai.yi.te.Nu so.Ra.retH5637 H5414the shoulderכָתֵ֖ףkha.TefH3802,and stoppedהִכְבִּ֥ידוּhikh.Bi.duH3513their earsוְאָזְנֵיהֶ֖םve.'a.ze.nei.HemH241,that they should not hearמִשְּׁמֽוֹעַ׃mi.she.Mo.a'H8085.

12Yea, they madeשָׂ֣מוּSa.muH7760their heartsוְלִבָּ֞םve.li.BamH3820asan adamant stoneשָׁמִ֗ירsha.MirH8068,lest they should hearמִ֠שְּׁמוֹעַMi.she.mo.a'H8085the lawהַתּוֹרָ֤הha.to.RahH8451,and the wordsהַדְּבָרִים֙ha.de.va.RimH1697which the Lordיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאוֹת֙tze.va.'OtH6635hath sentשָׁלַ֜חsha.LachH7971in his spiritבְּרוּח֔וֹbe.ru.ChoH7307byבְּיַ֖דbe.YadH3027the formerהָרִֽאשֹׁנִ֑יםha.ri.sho.NimH7223prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֣יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030:therefore came a greatגָּד֔וֹלga.DolH1419wrathקֶ֣צֶףKe.tzefH7110from the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635.

13Therefore it is come to pass, thatas he criedקָרָ֖אka.Ra'H7121,and they would not hearשָׁמֵ֑עוּsha.Me.'uH8085;so they criedיִקְרְאוּ֙yik.re.'UH7121,and I would not hearאֶשְׁמָ֔ע'esh.Ma'H8085,saithאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068of hostsצְבָאֽוֹת׃tze.va.'otH6635:

14But I scattered them with a whirlwindוְאֵ֣סָעֲרֵ֗םve.'E.sa.'a.RemH5590among all the nationsהַגּוֹיִם֙ha.go.YimH1471whom they knewיְדָע֔וּםye.da.'UmH3045not. Thus the landוְהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ve.ha.'A.retzH776was desolateנָשַׁ֣מָּהna.Sha.mahH8074afterאַֽחֲרֵיהֶ֔ם'a.cha.rei.HemH310them, that no man passed throughמֵֽעֹבֵ֖רme.'o.VerH5674nor returnedוּמִשָּׁ֑בu.mi.ShavH7725:for they laidוַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּvai.ya.Si.muH7760the pleasantחֶמְדָּ֖הchem.DahH2532landאֶֽרֶץ־'e.retz-H776desolateלְשַׁמָּֽה׃ פle.sha.MahH8047.
