1And Joshuaיְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ־ye.ho.Shu.a'-H3091the sonבִּן־bin-H1121of Nunנ֠וּןnunH5126sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֣חvai.yish.LachH7971out of Shittimהַשִּׁטִּ֞יםha.shi.TimH7851twoשְׁנַֽיִם־she.na.yim-H8147menאֲנָשִׁ֤ים'a.na.ShimH582to spyמְרַגְּלִים֙me.ra.ge.LimH7270secretlyחֶ֣רֶשׁChe.reshH2791,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,GoH3212viewרְא֥וּre.'UH7200the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776,even Jerichoיְרִיח֑וֹye.ri.ChoH3405.And they wentH3212,and cameוַ֠יָּבֹאוּVai.ya.vo.'uH935into an harlot’sזוֹנָ֛הzo.NahH2181houseבֵּית־ אִשָּׁ֥הbeit- 'i.ShahH1004H802,namedוּשְׁמָ֥הּu.she.MahH8034Rahabרָחָ֖בra.ChavH7343,and lodgedוַיִּשְׁכְּבוּ־vai.yish.ke.vu-H7901there.
2And it was toldוַיֵּ֣אָמַ֔רvai.Ye.'a.MarH559the kingלְמֶ֥לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428of Jerichoיְרִיח֖וֹye.ri.ChoH3405,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Behold, there cameבָּ֣אוּBa.'uH935menאֲ֠נָשִׁים'A.na.shimH582in hither to nightהַלַּ֛יְלָהha.Lay.lahH3915of the childrenמִבְּנֵ֥יmi.be.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478to search outלַחְפֹּ֥רlach.PorH2658the countryהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.
3And the kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Jerichoיְרִיח֔וֹye.ri.ChoH3405sentוַיִּשְׁלַח֙vai.yish.LachH7971unto Rahabרָחָ֖בra.ChavH7343,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Bring forthה֠וֹצִיאִיHo.tzi.'iH3318the menהָאֲנָשִׁ֨יםha.'a.na.ShimH582that are comeהַבָּאִ֤יםha.ba.'ImH935to thee, which are enteredבָּ֣אוּBa.'uH935into thine houseלְבֵיתֵ֔ךְle.vei.TekhH1004:for they be comeבָּֽאוּ׃Ba.'uH935to search outלַחְפֹּ֥רlach.PorH2658all the countryהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776.
4And the womanהָֽאִשָּׁ֛הha.'i.ShahH802tookוַתִּקַּ֧חva.ti.KachH3947the twoשְׁנֵ֥יshe.NeiH8147menהָאֲנָשִׁ֖יםha.'a.na.ShimH582,and hidוַֽתִּצְפְּנ֑וֹva.titz.pe.NoH6845them, and saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶר׀va.To.merH559thus, There cameבָּ֤אוּBa.'uH935menהָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔יםha.'a.na.ShimH582unto me, but I wistיָדַ֖עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045not whenceמֵאַ֥יִןme.'A.yinH370they were:
5And it came to pass about the timeof shuttingלִסְגּ֗וֹרlis.GorH5462of the gateהַשַּׁ֜עַרha.Sha.'arH8179,when it was darkבַּחֹ֙שֶׁךְ֙ba.Cho.shekhH2822,that the menוְהָאֲנָשִׁ֣יםve.ha.'a.na.ShimH582went outיָצָ֔אוּya.Tza.'uH3318:whither the menהָֽאֲנָשִׁ֑יםha.'a.na.ShimH582wentהָלְכ֖וּha.le.KhuH1980I wotיָדַ֔עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045not: pursueרִדְפ֥וּrid.FuH7291afterאַחֲרֵיהֶ֖ם'a.cha.rei.HemH310them quicklyמַהֵ֛רma.HerH4118;for ye shall overtakeתַשִּׂיגֽוּם׃ta.si.GumH5381them.
6But she had brought them upהֶעֱלָ֣תַםhe.'e.La.tamH5927to the roofהַגָּ֑גָהha.Ga.gahH1406of the house, and hidוַֽתִּטְמְנֵם֙va.tit.me.NemH2934them with the stalksהָעֵ֔ץha.'EtzH6086of flaxבְּפִשְׁתֵּ֣יbe.fish.TeiH6593,which she had laid in orderהָעֲרֻכ֥וֹתha.'a.ru.KhotH6186upon the roofהַגָּֽג׃ha.GagH1406.
