1Again the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068came unto me, sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

2Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֗ם'a.DamH120,speakדַּבֵּ֤רda.BerH1696to the childrenבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of thy peopleעַמְּךָ֙'a.me.KhaH5971,and sayוְאָמַרְתָּ֣ve.'a.mar.TaH559unto them, When I bringאָבִ֥יא'a.Vi'H935the swordחָ֑רֶבCha.revH2719upon a landאֶ֕רֶץ'E.retzH776,if the peopleעַם־'am-H5971of the landהָאָ֜רֶץha.'A.retzH776takeוְלָקְח֨וּve.la.ke.ChuH3947aאֶחָד֙'e.ChadH259manאִ֤ישׁ'ishH376of their coastsמִקְצֵיהֶ֔םmik.tzei.HemH7097,and setוְנָתְנ֥וּve.na.te.NuH5414him for their watchmanלְצֹפֶֽה׃le.tzo.PehH6822:

3If when he seethוְרָאָ֥הve.ra.'AhH7200the swordהַחֶ֖רֶבha.Che.revH2719comeבָּאָ֣הba.'AhH935upon the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776,he blowוְתָקַ֥עve.ta.Ka'H8628the trumpetבַּשּׁוֹפָ֖רba.sho.FarH7782,and warnוְהִזְהִ֥ירve.hiz.HirH2094the peopleהָעָֽם׃ha.'AmH5971;

4Then whosoeverוְשָׁמַ֨עve.sha.Ma'H8085hearethהַשֹּׁמֵ֜עַha.sho.Me.a'H8085the soundק֤וֹלKolH6963of the trumpetהַשּׁוֹפָר֙ha.sho.FarH7782,and taketh not warningנִזְהָ֔רniz.HarH2094;if the swordחֶ֖רֶבChe.revH2719comeוַתָּ֥בוֹאva.Ta.Vo'H935,and take him awayוַתִּקָּחֵ֑הוּva.ti.ka.Che.huH3947,his bloodדָּמ֥וֹda.MoH1818shall be upon his own headבְרֹאשׁ֖וֹve.ro.ShoH7218.

5He heardשָׁמַע֙sha.Ma'H8085the soundק֨וֹלKolH6963of the trumpetהַשּׁוֹפָ֤רha.sho.FarH7782,and took not warningנִזְהָ֔רniz.HarH2094;his bloodדָּמ֖וֹda.MoH1818shall be upon him. But he that taketh warningנִזְהָ֖רniz.HarH2094shall deliverמִלֵּֽט׃mi.LetH4422his soulנַפְשׁ֥וֹnaf.ShoH5315.

6But if the watchmanוְ֠הַצֹּפֶהVe.ha.tzo.fehH6822seeיִרְאֶ֨הyir.'EhH7200the swordהַחֶ֜רֶבha.Che.revH2719comeבָּאָ֗הba.'AhH935,and blowתָקַ֤עta.Ka'H8628not the trumpetבַּשּׁוֹפָר֙ba.sho.FarH7782,and the peopleוְהָעָ֣םve.ha.'AmH5971be not warnedנִזְהָ֔רniz.HarH2094;if the swordחֶ֔רֶבChe.revH2719comeוַתָּב֣וֹאva.ta.Vo'H935,and takeוַתִּקַּ֥חva.ti.KachH3947anypersonנָ֑פֶשׁNa.feshH5315from among them, he is taken awayנִלְקָ֔חnil.KachH3947in his iniquityבַּעֲוֹנ֣וֹba.'a.vo.NoH5771;but his bloodוְדָמ֖וֹve.da.MoH1818will I requireאֶדְרֹֽשׁ׃ ס'ed.RoshH1875at the watchman’sהַצֹּפֶ֥הha.tzo.PehH6822handמִיַּֽד־mi.yad-H3027.

7So thou, O sonבֶן־ven-H1121of manאָדָ֔ם'a.DamH120,I have setנְתַתִּ֖יךָne.ta.Ti.khaH5414thee a watchmanצֹפֶ֥הtzo.PehH6822unto the houseלְבֵ֣יתle.VeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478;therefore thou shalt hearוְשָׁמַעְתָּ֤ve.sha.ma'.TaH8085the wordדָּבָ֔רda.VarH1697at my mouthמִפִּי֙mi.PiH6310,and warnוְהִזְהַרְתָּ֥ve.hiz.har.TaH2094them from me.

8When I sayבְּאָמְרִ֣יbe.'a.me.RiH559unto the wickedלָרָשָׁ֗עla.ra.Sha'H7563,O wickedרָשָׁע֙ra.Sha'H7563man,thou shalt surelyמ֣וֹתMotH4191dieתָּמ֔וּתta.MutH4191;if thou dost not speakדִבַּ֔רְתָּdi.Bar.taH1696to warnלְהַזְהִ֥ירle.haz.HirH2094the wickedרָשָׁ֖עra.Sha'H7563from his wayמִדַּרְכּ֑וֹmi.dar.KoH1870,that wickedרָשָׁע֙ra.Sha'H7563manshall dieיָמ֔וּתya.MutH4191in his iniquityבַּעֲוֹנ֣וֹba.'a.vo.NoH5771;but his bloodוְדָמ֖וֹve.da.MoH1818will I requireאֲבַקֵּֽשׁ׃'a.va.KeshH1245at thine handמִיָּדְךָ֥mi.ya.de.KhaH3027.

9Nevertheless, if thou warnהִזְהַ֨רְתָּhiz.Har.taH2094the wickedרָשָׁ֤עra.Sha'H7563of his wayמִדַּרְכּוֹ֙mi.dar.KoH1870to turnלָשׁ֣וּבla.ShuvH7725from it; if he do not turnשָׁ֖בshavH7725from his wayמִדַּרְכּ֑וֹmi.dar.KoH1870,he shall dieיָמ֔וּתya.MutH4191in his iniquityבַּעֲוֹנ֣וֹba.'a.vo.NoH5771;but thou hast deliveredהִצַּֽלְתָּ׃ סhi.Tzal.taH5337thy soulנַפְשְׁךָ֥naf.she.KhaH5315.

10Therefore, O thou sonבֶן־ven-H1121of manאָדָ֗ם'a.DamH120,speakאֱמֹר֙'e.MorH559unto the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478;Thus ye speakאֲמַרְתֶּם֙'a.mar.TemH559,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,If our transgressionsפְשָׁעֵ֥ינוּfe.sha.'Ei.nuH6588and our sinsוְחַטֹּאתֵ֖ינוּve.cha.to.Tei.nuH2403beupon us, and we pine awayנְמַקִּ֖יםne.ma.KimH4743in them, how should we then liveנִֽחְיֶֽה׃Nich.YehH2421?

11Sayאֱמֹ֨ר'e.MorH559unto them, AsI liveחַי־chai-H2416,saithנְאֻ֣ם׀ne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Godיְהוִ֗הYah.wehH3069,I have no pleasureאֶחְפֹּץ֙'ech.PotzH2654in the deathבְּמ֣וֹתbe.MotH4194of the wickedהָרָשָׁ֔עha.ra.Sha'H7563;but that the wickedרָשָׁ֛עra.Sha'H7563turnבְּשׁ֥וּבbe.ShuvH7725from his wayמִדַּרְכּ֖וֹmi.dar.KoH1870and liveוְחָיָ֑הve.cha.YahH2421:turnשׁ֣וּבוּShu.vuH7725ye, turnשׁ֜וּבוּShu.vuH7725ye from your evilהָרָעִ֛יםha.ra.'ImH7451waysמִדַּרְכֵיכֶ֧םmi.dar.khei.KhemH1870;for why will ye dieתָמ֖וּתוּta.Mu.tuH4191,O houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פYis.ra.'ElH3478?

12Therefore, thou sonבֶן־ven-H1121of manאָדָ֗ם'a.DamH120,sayאֱמֹ֤ר'e.MorH559unto the childrenבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121of thy peopleעַמְּךָ֙'a.me.KhaH5971,The righteousnessצִדְקַ֣תtzid.KatH6666of the righteousהַצַּדִּ֗יקha.tza.DikH6662shall not deliverתַצִּילֶ֙נּוּ֙ta.tzi.Le.nuH5337him in the dayבְּי֣וֹםbe.YomH3117of his transgressionפִּשְׁע֔וֹpish.'OH6588:as for the wickednessוְרִשְׁעַ֤תve.rish.'AtH7564of the wickedהָֽרָשָׁע֙ha.ra.Sha'H7563,he shall not fallיִכָּ֣שֶׁלyi.Ka.shelH3782thereby in the dayבְּי֖וֹםbe.YomH3117that he turnethשׁוּב֣וֹshu.VoH7725from his wickednessמֵֽרִשְׁע֑וֹme.rish.'OH7562;neither shall the righteousוְצַדִּ֗יקve.tza.DikH6662be ableיוּכַ֛לyu.KhalH3201to liveלִֽחְי֥וֹתlich.YotH2421for his righteousnessin the dayבְּי֥וֹםbe.YomH3117that he sinnethחֲטֹאתֽוֹ׃cha.to.ToH2398.

13When I shall sayבְּאָמְרִ֤יbe.'a.me.RiH559to the righteousלַצַּדִּיק֙la.tza.DikH6662, thathe shall surelyחָיֹ֣הcha.YohH2421liveיִֽחְיֶ֔הyich.YehH2421;if he trustבָטַ֥חva.TachH982to his own righteousnessצִדְקָת֖וֹtzid.ka.ToH6666,and commitוְעָ֣שָׂהve.'A.sahH6213iniquityעָ֑וֶל'A.velH5766,all his righteousnessesצִדְקֹתָיו֙tzid.ka.tovH6666shall not be rememberedתִזָּכַ֔רְנָהti.za.Khar.nahH2142;but for his iniquityוּבְעַוְל֥וֹu.ve.'av.LoH5766that he hath committedעָשָׂ֖ה'a.SahH6213,he shall dieיָמֽוּת׃ya.MutH4191for it.

14Again, when I sayוּבְאָמְרִ֥יu.ve.'a.me.RiH559unto the wickedלָֽרָשָׁ֖עla.ra.Sha'H7563,Thou shalt surelyמ֣וֹתMotH4191dieתָּמ֑וּתta.MutH4191;if he turnוְשָׁב֙ve.ShavH7725from his sinמֵֽחַטָּאת֔וֹme.cha.ta.ToH2403,and doוְעָשָׂ֥הve.'a.SahH6213that which is lawfulמִשְׁפָּ֖טmish.PatH4941and rightוּצְדָקָֽה׃u.tze.da.KahH6666;

15Ifthe wickedרָשָׁע֙ra.Sha'H7563restoreיָשִׁ֤יבya.ShivH7725the pledgeחֲבֹ֨לcha.VolH2258,give againיְשַׁלֵּ֔םye.sha.LemH7999that he had robbedגְּזֵלָ֣הge.ze.LahH1500,walkהָלַ֔ךְha.LakhH1980in the statutesבְּחֻקּ֤וֹתbe.chu.KotH2708of lifeהַֽחַיִּים֙ha.chai.YimH2416,without committingעֲשׂ֣וֹתa.SotH6213iniquityעָ֑וֶל'A.velH5766;he shall surelyחָי֥וֹcha.YoH2421liveיִֽחְיֶ֖הyich.YehH2421,he shall not dieיָמֽוּת׃ya.MutH4191.

16None of his sinsחַטֹּאתָיו֙cha.ta.tovH2403that he hath committedחָטָ֔אcha.Ta'H2398shall be mentionedתִזָּכַ֖רְנָהti.za.Khar.nahH2142unto him: he hath doneעָשָׂ֖ה'a.SahH6213that which is lawfulמִשְׁפָּ֧טmish.PatH4941and rightוּצְדָקָ֛הu.tze.da.KahH6666;he shall surelyחָי֥וֹcha.YoH2421liveיִֽחְיֶֽה׃Yich.YehH2421.

17Yet the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of thy peopleעַמְּךָ֔'a.me.KhaH5971sayוְאָמְרוּ֙ve.'a.me.RuH559,The wayדֶּ֣רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the Lordאֲדֹנָ֑י'a.do.NaiH136is not equalיִתָּכֵ֖ןyi.ta.KhenH8505:but as for them, their wayדַּרְכָּ֥םdar.KamH1870is not equalיִתָּכֵֽן׃yi.ta.KhenH8505.

18When the righteousצַדִּ֥יקtza.DikH6662turnethבְּשׁוּב־be.shuv-H7725from his righteousnessמִצִּדְקָת֖וֹmi.tzid.ka.ToH6666,and committethוְעָ֣שָׂהve.'A.sahH6213iniquityעָ֑וֶל'A.velH5766,he shall even dieוּמֵ֖תu.MetH4191thereby.

19But if the wickedרָשָׁע֙ra.Sha'H7563turnוּבְשׁ֤וּבu.ve.ShuvH7725from his wickednessמֵֽרִשְׁעָת֔וֹme.rish.'a.ToH7564,and doוְעָשָׂ֥הve.'a.SahH6213that which is lawfulמִשְׁפָּ֖טmish.PatH4941and rightוּצְדָקָ֑הu.tze.da.KahH6666,he shall liveיִֽחְיֶֽה׃Yich.YehH2421thereby.

20Yet ye sayוַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕םva.'a.mar.TemH559,The wayדֶּ֣רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of the Lordאֲדֹנָ֑י'a.do.NaiH136is not equalיִתָּכֵ֖ןyi.ta.KhenH8505.O ye houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל פYis.ra.'ElH3478,I will judgeאֶשְׁפּ֥וֹט'esh.PotH8199you every oneאִ֧ישׁ'ishH376after his waysכִּדְרָכָ֛יוkid.ra.KhavH1870.

21And it came to pass in the twelfthבִּשְׁתֵּ֧י עֶשְׂרֵ֣הbish.Tei 'es.RehH6240 H8147yearשָׁנָ֗הsha.NahH8141of our captivityלְגָלוּתֵ֑נוּle.ga.lu.Te.nuH1546,in the tenthבָּעֲשִׂרִ֛יba.'a.si.RiH6224month,in the fifthבַּחֲמִשָּׁ֥הba.cha.mi.ShahH2568dayof the monthלַחֹ֖דֶשׁla.Cho.deshH2320, thatone that had escapedהַפָּלִ֧יטha.pa.LitH6412out of Jerusalemמִירוּשָׁלִַ֛םmi.ru.sha.LimH3389cameבָּא־ba'-H935unto me, sayingלֵאמֹ֖רle.MorH559,The cityהָעִֽיר׃ha.'IrH5892is smittenהֻכְּתָ֥הhu.ke.TahH5221.

22Now the handוְיַד־ve.yad-H3027of the Lordיְהוָה֩Yah.wehH3068was upon me in the eveningבָּעֶ֗רֶבba.'E.revH6153,aforeלִפְנֵי֙lif.NeiH6440he that was escapedהַפָּלִ֔יטha.pa.LitH6412cameבּ֣וֹאBo'H935;and had openedוַיִּפְתַּ֣חvai.yif.TachH6605my mouthפִּ֔יPiH6310,until he cameבּ֥וֹאBo'H935to me in the morningבַּבֹּ֑קֶרba.Bo.kerH1242;and my mouthפִּ֔יPiH6310was openedוַיִּפָּ֣תַחvai.yi.Pa.tachH6605,and I was no more dumbנֶאֱלַ֖מְתִּיne.'e.Lam.tiH481.

23Then the wordדְבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהֹוָ֖הYah.wehH3068came unto me, sayingלֵאמֹֽר׃le.MorH559,

24Sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of manאָדָ֗ם'a.DamH120,they that inhabitיֹ֠שְׁבֵיYo.she.veiH3427those wastesהֶחֳרָב֨וֹתhe.cho.ra.VotH2723of the landאַדְמַ֤ת'ad.MatH127of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478speakאֹמְרִ֣ים'o.me.RimH559,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֔ם'av.ra.HamH85was oneאֶחָד֙'e.ChadH259,and he inheritedוַיִּירַ֖שׁvai.yi.RashH3423the landהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776: but we aremanyרַבִּ֔יםra.BimH7227;the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776is givenנִתְּנָ֥הni.te.NahH5414us for inheritanceלְמוֹרָשָֽׁה׃ סle.mo.ra.ShahH4181.

25Wherefore sayאֱמֹ֨ר'e.MorH559unto them, Thus saithאָמַ֣ר׀'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Godיְהֹוִ֗הYah.wehH3069;Ye eatתֹּאכֵ֛לוּto.Khe.luH398with the bloodהַדָּ֧ם׀ha.DamH1818,and lift upתִּשְׂא֥וּtis.'UH5375your eyesוְעֵינֵכֶ֛םve.'ei.ne.KhemH5869toward your idolsגִּלּוּלֵיכֶ֖םgi.lu.lei.KhemH1544,and shedתִּשְׁפֹּ֑כוּtish.Po.khuH8210bloodוְדָ֣םve.DamH1818:and shall ye possessתִּירָֽשׁוּ׃ti.Ra.shuH3423the landוְהָאָ֖רֶץve.ha.'A.retzH776?

26Ye standעֲמַדְתֶּ֤ם'a.mad.TemH5975upon your swordחַרְבְּכֶם֙char.be.KhemH2719,ye workעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ן'a.si.TenH6213abominationתּוֹעֵבָ֔הto.'e.VahH8441,and ye defileטִמֵּאתֶ֑םti.me.TemH2930every oneוְאִ֛ישׁve.'IshH376his neighbour’sרֵעֵ֖הוּre.'E.huH7453wifeאֵ֥שֶׁת'E.shetH802:and shall ye possessתִּירָֽשׁוּ׃ סti.Ra.shuH3423the landוְהָאָ֖רֶץve.ha.'A.retzH776?

27Sayתֹאמַ֨רto.MarH559thou thus unto them, Thus saithאָמַ֨ר'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Godיְהוִה֮Yah.wehH3069; AsI liveחַי־chai-H2416, surely they that arein the wastesבֶּֽחֳרָבוֹת֙be.cho.ra.VotH2723shall fallיִפֹּ֔לוּyi.Po.luH5307by the swordבַּחֶ֣רֶבba.Che.revH2719, and him that isin the openפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440fieldהַשָּׂדֶ֔הha.sa.DehH7704will I giveנְתַתִּ֖יוne.ta.TivH5414to the beastsלַחַיָּ֥הla.chai.YahH2416to be devouredלְאָכְל֑וֹle.'a.khe.LoH398, and they that bein the fortsבַּמְּצָד֥וֹתba.me.tza.DotH4679and in the cavesוּבַמְּעָר֖וֹתu.va.me.'a.RotH4631shall dieיָמֽוּתוּ׃ya.Mu.tuH4191of the pestilenceבַּדֶּ֥בֶרba.De.verH1698.

28For I will layוְנָתַתִּ֤יve.na.ta.TiH5414the landהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ha.'A.retzH776mostוּמְשַׁמָּ֔הu.me.sha.MahH4923desolateשְׁמָמָ֣הshe.ma.MahH8077,and the pompגְּא֣וֹןge.'onH1347of her strengthעֻזָּ֑הּ'u.ZahH5797shall ceaseוְנִשְׁבַּ֖תve.nish.BatH7673;and the mountainsהָרֵ֥יha.ReiH2022of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478shall be desolateוְשָֽׁמְמ֛וּve.sha.me.MuH8074,that none shall pass throughעוֹבֵֽר׃o.VerH5674.

29Then shall they knowוְיָדְע֖וּve.ya.de.'UH3045that I amthe Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,when I have laidבְּתִתִּ֤יbe.ti.TiH5414the landהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ha.'A.retzH776mostוּמְשַׁמָּ֔הu.me.sha.MahH4923desolateשְׁמָמָ֣הshe.ma.MahH8077because of all their abominationsתּוֹעֲבֹתָ֖םto.'a.vo.TamH8441which they have committedעָשֽׂוּ׃ ס'a.SuH6213.

30Also, thou sonבֶן־ven-H1121of manאָדָ֔ם'a.DamH120,the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of thy peopleעַמְּךָ֗'a.me.KhaH5971still are talkingהַנִּדְבָּרִ֤יםha.nid.ba.RimH1696againstאֵ֣צֶל'E.tzelH681thee by the wallsהַקִּיר֔וֹתha.ki.RotH7023and in the doorsוּבְפִתְחֵ֖יu.ve.fit.CheiH6607of the housesהַבָּתִּ֑יםha.ba.TimH1004,and speakוְדִבֶּר־ve.di.ber-H1696oneחַ֣דchadH2297to anotherאַחַ֗ד'a.ChadH259,every oneאִ֤ישׁ'ishH376to his brotherאָחִיו֙'a.ChivH251,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,Comeבֹּֽאוּ־bo.'u-H935,I pray you, and hearוְשִׁמְע֔וּve.shim.'UH8085what is the wordהַדָּבָ֔רha.da.VarH1697that cometh forthהַיּוֹצֵ֖אhai.yo.Tze'H3318from the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

31And they comeוְיָב֣וֹאוּve.ya.Vo.'uH935unto thee as the peopleעָ֞ם'amH5971comethכִּמְבוֹא־kim.Vo'-H3996,and they sitוְיֵשְׁב֤וּve.ye.she.VuH3427beforeלְפָנֶ֙יךָ֙le.fa.Nei.khaH6440thee asmy peopleעַמִּ֔י'a.MiH5971,and they hearוְשָֽׁמְעוּ֙ve.sha.me.'UH8085thy wordsדְּבָרֶ֔יךָde.va.Rei.khaH1697,but they will not doיַֽעֲשׂ֑וּya.'a.SuH6213them: for with their mouthבְּפִיהֶם֙be.fi.HemH6310they shewעֹשִׂ֔ים'o.SimH6213much loveעֲגָבִ֤ים'a.ga.VimH5690, buttheir heartלִבָּ֥םli.BamH3820goethהֹלֵֽךְ׃ho.LekhH1980afterאַחֲרֵ֥י'a.cha.ReiH310their covetousnessבִצְעָ֖םvitz.'AmH1215.

32And, lo, thou artunto them as a very lovelyעֲגָבִ֔ים'a.ga.VimH5690songכְּשִׁ֣ירke.ShirH7892of one that hath a pleasantיְפֵ֥הye.PehH3303voiceק֖וֹלKolH6963,and can play wellH2895on an instrumentנַגֵּ֑ןna.GenH5059:for they hearוְשָֽׁמְעוּ֙ve.sha.me.'UH8085thy wordsדְּבָרֶ֔יךָde.va.Rei.khaH1697,but they doוְעֹשִׂ֥יםve.'o.SimH6213them not.

33And when this cometh to passוּבְבֹאָ֑הּu.ve.vo.'AhH935, (lo, it will comeבָאָ֔הva.'AhH935,)then shall they knowוְיָ֣דְע֔וּve.Ya.de.'UH3045that a prophetנָבִ֖יאna.Vi'H5030hath been amongבְתוֹכָֽם׃ סve.to.KhamH8432them.
