13And hath takenוַיִּקַּח֙vai.yi.KachH3947of the king’sהַמְּלוּכָ֔הha.me.lu.KhahH4410seedמִזֶּ֣רַעmi.Ze.ra'H2233,and madeוַיִּכְרֹ֥תvai.yikh.RotH3772a covenantבְּרִ֑יתbe.RitH1285with him, and hath takenוַיָּבֵ֤אvai.ya.Ve'H935an oathבְּאָלָ֔הbe.'a.LahH423of him: he hath also takenלָקָֽח׃la.KachH3947the mightyאֵילֵ֥י'ei.LeiH352of the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776:

14That the kingdomמַמְלָכָ֣הmam.la.KhahH4467might be baseשְׁפָלָ֔הshe.fa.LahH8217,that it might not lift itself upהִתְנַשֵּׂ֑אhit.na.Se'H5375, butthat by keepingלִשְׁמֹ֥רlish.MorH8104of his covenantבְּרִית֖וֹbe.ri.ToH1285it might standלְעָמְדָֽהּ׃le.'a.me.DahH5975.

15But he rebelledוַיִּמְרָד־vai.yim.rod-H4775against him in sendingלִשְׁלֹ֤חַlish.Lo.achH7971his ambassadorsמַלְאָכָיו֙mal.'a.KhavH4397into Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714,that they might giveלָֽתֶת־la.tet-H5414him horsesסוּסִ֖יםsu.SimH5483and muchרָ֑בRavH7227peopleוְעַם־ve.'am-H5971.Shall he prosperהֲיִצְלָ֤חha.yitz.LachH6743?shall he escapeהֲיִמָּלֵט֙ha.yi.ma.LetH4422that doethהָעֹשֵׂ֣הha.'o.SehH6213such things?or shall he breakוְהֵפֵ֥רve.he.FerH6565the covenantבְּרִ֖יתbe.RitH1285,and be deliveredוְנִמְלָֽט׃ve.nim.LatH4422?

16AsI liveחַי־chai-H2416,saithנְאֻם֮ne.'UmH5002the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Godיְהוִה֒Yah.wehH3069,surely in the placeבִּמְקוֹם֙bim.kOmH4725wherethe kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428dwelleththat made him kingהַמַּמְלִ֣יךְha.mam.LikhH4427,whose oathאָ֣לָת֔וֹ'a.la.ToH423he despisedבָּזָה֙ba.ZahH959,and whose covenantבְּרִית֑וֹbe.ri.ToH1285he brakeהֵפֵ֖רhe.FerH6565, evenwith him in the midstבְתוֹךְ־ve.tokh-H8432of Babylonבָּבֶ֖לba.VelH894he shall dieיָמֽוּת׃ya.MutH4191.

17Neither shall Pharaohפַרְעֹה֙far.'OhH6547with hismightyגָּד֜וֹלga.DolH1419armyבְחַ֨יִלve.Cha.yilH2428and greatרָ֗בRavH7227companyוּבְקָהָ֣לu.ve.ka.HalH6951makeיַעֲשֶׂ֨הya.'a.SehH6213for him in the warבַּמִּלְחָמָ֔הba.mil.cha.MahH4421,by casting upבִּשְׁפֹּ֥ךְbish.PokhH8210mountsסֹלְלָ֖הso.le.LahH5550,and buildingוּבִבְנ֣וֹתu.viv.NotH1129fortsדָּיֵ֑קda.YekH1785,to cut offלְהַכְרִ֖יתle.hakh.RitH3772manyרַבּֽוֹת׃ra.BotH7227personsנְפָשׁ֥וֹתne.fa.ShotH5315:

18Seeing he despisedוּבָזָ֥הu.va.ZahH959the oathאָלָ֖ה'a.LahH423by breakingלְהָפֵ֣רle.ha.FerH6565the covenantבְּרִ֑יתbe.RitH1285,when, lo, he had givenנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414his handיָד֛וֹya.DoH3027,and hath doneעָשָׂ֖ה'a.SahH6213all these things,he shall not escapeיִמָּלֵֽט׃ סyi.ma.LetH4422.

19Therefore thus saithאָמַ֨ר'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Godיְהוִה֮Yah.wehH3069; AsI liveחַי־chai-H2416,surely mine oathאָֽלָתִי֙'a.la.TiH423that he hath despisedבָּזָ֔הba.ZahH959,and my covenantוּבְרִיתִ֖יu.ve.ri.TiH1285that he hath brokenהֵפִ֑ירhe.FirH6331,even it will I recompenseוּנְתַתִּ֖יוu.ne.ta.TivH5414upon his own headבְּרֹאשֽׁוֹ׃be.ro.ShoH7218.
