17Now Jonathanוִיהוֹנָתָ֨ןvi.ho.na.TanH3083and Ahimaazוַאֲחִימַ֜עַץva.'a.chi.Ma.'atzH290stayedעֹמְדִ֣ים'o.me.DimH5975by En–rogelH5883;for they mightיוּכְל֛וּyu.khe.LuH3201not be seenלְהֵרָא֖וֹתle.he.ra.'otH7200to comeלָב֥וֹאla.Vo'H935into the cityהָעִֽירָה׃ha.'I.rahH5892:and a wenchהַשִּׁפְחָה֙ha.shif.ChahH8198wentH1980and toldוְהִגִּ֣ידָהve.hi.Gi.dahH5046them; and they wentH3212and toldוְהִגִּ֖ידוּve.hi.Gi.duH5046kingלַמֶּ֣לֶךְla.Me.lekhH4428Davidדָּוִ֑דda.VidH1732.

18Nevertheless a ladנַ֔עַרNa.'arH5288sawוַיַּ֤רְאvai.Yar'H7200them, and toldוַיַּגֵּ֖דvai.ya.GedH5046Absalomלְאַבְשָׁלֹ֑םle.'av.sha.LomH53:but they wentH3212bothשְׁנֵיהֶ֨םshe.nei.HemH8147of them away quicklyמְהֵרָ֜הme.he.RahH4120,and cameוַיָּבֹ֣אוּ׀vai.ya.Vo.'uH935to a man’sאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376houseבֵּֽית־beit-H1004in Bahurimבְּבַחוּרִ֗יםbe.va.chu.RimH980,which had a wellבְאֵ֛רve.'ErH875in his courtבַּחֲצֵר֖וֹba.cha.tze.RoH2691;whitherשָֽׁם׃ShamH8033they went downוַיֵּ֥רְדוּvai.Ye.re.duH3381.

19And the womanהָאִשָּׁ֗הha.'i.ShahH802tookוַתִּקַּ֣חva.ti.KachH3947and spreadוַתִּפְרֹ֤שׂva.tif.RosH6566a coveringהַמָּסָךְ֙ha.ma.soKhH4539over the well’sהַבְּאֵ֔רha.be.'ErH875mouthפְּנֵ֣יpe.NeiH6440,and spreadוַתִּשְׁטַ֥חva.tish.TachH7849ground cornהָֽרִפ֑וֹתha.ri.FotH7383thereon; and the thingדָּבָֽר׃da.VarH1697was not knownנוֹדַ֖עno.Da'H3045.

20And when Absalom’sאַבְשָׁל֨וֹם'av.sha.LomH53servantsעַבְדֵי֩'av.DeiH5650cameוַיָּבֹ֣אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to the womanהָאִשָּׁ֜הha.'i.ShahH802to the houseהַבַּ֗יְתָהha.Bay.tahH1004,they saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, Where isAhimaazאֲחִימַ֙עַץ֙'a.chi.Ma.'atzH290and Jonathanוִיה֣וֹנָתָ֔ןvi.Ho.na.TanH3083?And the womanהָֽאִשָּׁ֔הha.'i.ShahH802saidוַתֹּ֤אמֶרva.To.merH559unto them, They be gone overעָבְר֖וּ'a.ve.RuH5674the brookמִיכַ֣לmi.KhalH4323of waterהַמָּ֑יִםha.Ma.yimH4325.And when they had soughtוַיְבַקְשׁוּ֙vay.vak.ShuH1245and could not findמָצָ֔אוּma.Tza.'uH4672them,they returnedוַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725to Jerusalemיְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ סye.ru.sha.LimH3389.
