20And Absalomאַבְשָׁל֣וֹם'av.sha.LomH53her brotherאָחִ֗יהָ'a.Chi.haH251saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto her, Hath Amnonהַאֲמִינ֣וֹןha.'a.mi.NonH550thy brotherאָחִיךְ֮'a.chiKhH251been with thee? but hold now thy peaceהַחֲרִ֙ישִׁי֙ha.cha.Ri.shiH2790,my sisterאֲחוֹתִ֤י'a.cho.TiH269: he isthy brotherאָחִ֣יךְ'a.ChikhH251;regardתָּשִׁ֥יתִי לִבֵּ֖ךְta.Shi.ti li.BekhH3820 H7896not this thingלַדָּבָ֣רla.da.VarH1697.So Tamarתָּמָר֙ta.MarH8559remainedוַתֵּ֤שֶׁבva.Te.shevH3427desolateH8074in her brotherאָחִֽיהָ׃'a.Chi.haH251Absalom’sאַבְשָׁל֥וֹם'av.sha.LomH53houseבֵּ֖יתbeitH1004.

21But when kingוְהַמֶּ֣לֶךְve.ha.Me.lekhH4428Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732heardשָׁמַ֕עsha.Ma'H8085of all these thingsהַדְּבָרִ֖יםha.de.va.RimH1697,he was veryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966wrothוַיִּ֥חַרvai.Yi.charH2734.

22And Absalomאַבְשָׁל֛וֹם'av.sha.LomH53spakeדִבֶּ֧רdi.BerH1696unto his brother Amnonאַמְנ֖וֹן'am.NonH550neither goodט֑וֹבTovH2896nor badלְמֵרָ֣עle.me.Ra'H7451:for Absalomאַבְשָׁלוֹם֙'av.sha.lOmH53hatedשָׂנֵ֤אsa.Ne'H8130Amnonאַמְנ֔וֹן'am.NonH550,becauseדְּבַר֙de.VarH1697he had forcedעִנָּ֔ה'i.NahH6031his sisterאֲחֹתֽוֹ׃ פ'a.cho.ToH269Tamarתָּמָ֥רta.MarH8559.

23And it came to pass after two fullיָמִ֔יםya.MimH3117yearsלִשְׁנָתַ֣יִםlish.na.Ta.yimH8141,that Absalomלְאַבְשָׁל֔וֹםle.'av.sha.LomH53had sheepshearersגֹֽזְזִים֙go.ze.ZimH1494in Baal–hazorH1178, which isbeside Ephraimאֶפְרָ֑יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669:and Absalomאַבְשָׁל֖וֹם'av.sha.LomH53invitedוַיִּקְרָ֥אvai.yik.Ra'H7121all the king’sהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121.

24And Absalomאַבְשָׁלוֹם֙'av.sha.lOmH53cameוַיָּבֹ֤אvai.ya.Vo'H935to the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,and saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Behold now, thy servantלְעַבְדֶּ֑ךָle.'av.De.khaH5650hath sheepshearersגֹזְזִ֖יםgo.ze.ZimH1494;letH3212the kingהַמֶּ֛לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,I beseech thee, and his servantsוַעֲבָדָ֖יוva.'a.va.DavH5650goH3212with thy servantעַבְדֶּֽךָ׃'av.De.khaH5650.

25And the kingהַמֶּ֜לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Absalomאַבְשָׁל֗וֹם'av.sha.LomH53,Nay, my sonבְּנִי֙be.NiH1121,let us not all now goH3212,lest we be chargeableנִכְבַּ֖דnikh.BadH3513unto thee. And he pressedוַיִּפְרָץ־vai.yif.rotz-H6555him: howbeit he wouldאָבָ֥ה'a.VahH14not goH3212,but blessedוַֽיְבָרֲכֵֽהוּ׃Vay.va.ra.Khe.huH1288him.

26Then saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559Absalomאַבְשָׁל֔וֹם'av.sha.LomH53,If not, I pray thee, let my brotherאָחִ֑י'a.ChiH251Amnonאַמְנ֣וֹן'am.NonH550goH3212with us. And the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto him, Why should he goH3212with thee?

27But Absalomאַבְשָׁל֑וֹם'av.sha.LomH53pressedוַיִּפְרָץ־vai.yif.rotz-H6555him, that he let Amnonאַמְנ֔וֹן'am.NonH550and all the king’sהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ סha.Me.lekhH4428sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121goוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971with him.

28Now Absalomאַבְשָׁל֨וֹם'av.sha.LomH53had commandedוַיְצַו֩vay.TzavH6680his servantsנְעָרָ֜יוne.'a.RavH5288,sayingלֵאמֹ֗רle.MorH559,Markרְא֣וּre.'UH7200ye now when Amnon’sאַמְנ֤וֹן'am.NonH550heartלֵב־lev-H3820is merryH2896with wineבַּיַּ֙יִן֙bai.Ya.yinH3196,and when I sayוְאָמַרְתִּ֣יve.'a.mar.TiH559unto you, Smiteהַכּ֧וּha.KuH5221Amnonאַמְנ֛וֹן'am.NonH550;then killוַהֲמִתֶּ֥םva.ha.mi.TemH4191him, fearתִּירָ֑אוּti.Ra.'uH3372not: have not I commandedצִוִּ֣יתִיtzi.Vi.tiH6680you? be courageousחִזְק֖וּchiz.KuH2388,and be valiantלִבְנֵי־ חָֽיִל׃liv.nei- Cha.yilH2428 H1121.

29And the servantsנַעֲרֵ֤יna.'a.ReiH5288of Absalomאַבְשָׁלוֹם֙'av.sha.lOmH53didוַֽיַּעֲשׂ֞וּvai.ya.'a.SuH6213unto Amnonלְאַמְנ֔וֹןle.'am.NonH550as Absalomאַבְשָׁל֑וֹם'av.sha.LomH53had commandedצִוָּ֖הtzi.VahH6680.Then all the king’sהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121aroseוַיָּקֻ֣מוּ׀vai.ya.Ku.muH6965,and every manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376gat him upוַֽיִּרְכְּב֛וּvai.yir.ke.VuH7392upon his muleפִּרְדּ֖וֹpir.DoH6505,and fledוַיָּנֻֽסוּ׃vai.ya.Nu.suH5127.

30And it came to pass, while they were in the wayבַדֶּ֔רֶךְva.De.rekhH1870,that tidingsוְהַשְּׁמֻעָ֣הve.ha.she.mu.'AhH8052cameבָ֔אָהVa.'ahH935to Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Absalomאַבְשָׁלוֹם֙'av.sha.lOmH53hath slainהִכָּ֤הhi.KahH5221all the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121,and there is not oneאֶחָֽד׃ ס'e.ChadH259of them leftנוֹתַ֥רno.TarH3498.

31Then the kingהַמֶּ֛לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428aroseוַיָּ֧קָםvai.Ya.komH6965,and tareוַיִּקְרַ֥עvai.yik.Ra'H7167his garmentsבְּגָדָ֖יוbe.ga.DavH899,and layוַיִּשְׁכַּ֣בvai.yish.KavH7901on the earthאָ֑רְצָה'A.re.tzahH776;and all his servantsעֲבָדָ֥יו'a.va.DavH5650stoodנִצָּבִ֖יםni.tza.VimH5324by with their clothesבְגָדִֽים׃ סve.ga.DimH899rentקְרֻעֵ֥יke.ru.'EiH7167.

32And Jonadabיוֹנָדָ֣ב׀yo.na.DavH3122,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Shimeahשִׁמְעָ֨הshim.'AhH8093David’sדָוִ֜דda.VidH1732brotherאֲחִֽי־'a.chi-H251,answeredוַיַּ֡עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030and saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559,Let not my lordאֲדֹנִי֙'a.do.NiH113supposeיֹאמַ֤רyo.MarH559thatthey have slainהֵמִ֔יתוּhe.Mi.tuH4191all the young menהַנְּעָרִ֤יםha.ne.'a.RimH5288the king’sהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428sonsבְּנֵֽי־be.nei-H1121;for Amnonאַמְנ֥וֹן'am.NonH550only is deadמֵ֑תMetH4191:for by the appointmentפִּ֤יpiH6310of Absalomאַבְשָׁלוֹם֙'av.sha.lOmH53this hath been determinedשׂוּמָ֔הsu.MahH7760from the dayמִיּוֹם֙mi.yOmH3117that he forcedעַנֹּת֔וֹa.no.ToH6031his sisterאֲחֹתֽוֹ׃'a.cho.ToH269Tamarתָּמָ֥רta.MarH8559.

33Now therefore let not my lordאֲדֹנִ֨י'a.do.NiH113the kingהַמֶּ֤לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428takeיָשֵׂם֩ya.SemH7760the thingדָּבָ֣רda.VarH1697to his heartלִבּוֹ֙li.BoH3820,to thinkלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559that all the king’sהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121are deadמֵ֑תוּMe.tuH4191:for Amnonאַמְנ֥וֹן'am.NonH550only is deadמֵֽת׃ פMetH4191.

34But Absalomאַבְשָׁל֑וֹם'av.sha.LomH53fledוַיִּבְרַ֖חvai.yiv.RachH1272.And the young manהַנַּ֤עַרha.Na.'arH5288that kept the watchH6822lifted upוַיִּשָּׂ֞אvai.yi.Sa'H5375his eyesעֵינָ֔יוei.noH5869,and lookedH7200,and, behold, there cameהֹלְכִ֥יםho.le.KhimH1980muchרַ֜בravH7227peopleעַם־'am-H5971by the wayH1870of the hillהָהָֽר׃ha.HarH2022sideמִצַּ֥דmi.TzadH6654behindאַחֲרָ֖יו'a.cha.RavH310him.

35And Jonadabיֽוֹנָדָב֙yo.na.DavH3122saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,Behold, the king’sהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121comeבָּ֑אוּBa.'uH935:as thy servantעַבְדְּךָ֖'av.de.KhaH5650saidכִּדְבַ֥רkid.VarH1697, so it is.

36And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an endכְּכַלֹּת֣וֹke.kha.lo.ToH3615of speakingלְדַבֵּ֗רle.da.BerH1696,that, behold, the king’sהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428sonsבְנֵֽי־ve.nei-H1121cameבָּ֔אוּBa.'uH935,and lifted upוַיִּשְׂא֥וּvai.yis.'UH5375their voiceקוֹלָ֖םko.LamH6963and weptוַיִּבְכּ֑וּvai.yiv.KuH1058:and the kingהַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ha.Me.lekhH4428also and all his servantsעֲבָדָ֔יו'a.va.DavH5650weptבָּכ֕וּba.KhuH1058veryמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966soreבְּכִ֖י גָּד֥וֹלbe.Khi ga.DolH1419 H1065.

37But Absalomוְאַבְשָׁל֣וֹםve.'av.sha.LomH53fledבָּרַ֔חba.RachH1272,and wentH3212to Talmaiתַּלְמַ֥יtal.MaiH8526,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Ammihudעַמִּיה֖וּדa.mi.churH5989 H5991,kingמֶ֣לֶךְMe.lekhH4428of Geshurגְּשׁ֑וּרge.ShurH1650. And Davidmournedוַיִּתְאַבֵּ֥לvai.yit.'a.BelH56for his sonבְּנ֖וֹbe.NoH1121every dayהַיָּמִֽים׃hai.ya.MimH3117.

38So Absalomוְאַבְשָׁל֥וֹםve.'av.sha.LomH53fledבָּרַ֖חba.RachH1272,and wentH3212to Geshurגְּשׁ֑וּרge.ShurH1650,and was there threeשָׁלֹ֥שׁsha.LoshH7969yearsשָׁנִֽים׃sha.NimH8141.
